    Furnace Motor repair.

    Over the last three days we have had an issue with the Furnace motor going out in our house we had built 5 yrs. ago. My wife called Harrington Bros on Wed evening Jan 3rd and they stated they would have someone out on Thursday. That was scrubbed due to parts availability and we were pushed to Friday.. Remember the balmy overnight temp of at or below ZERO over the last three days putting my families health and our plumbing and other mechanical aspects of my house at risk.. Today my wife was told that it will be next week before they will be out and they were not going to do anything out of the ordinary due to our circumstances regarding getting a new motor or tracking one down to take care of this as quoted by a person that represented themselves as the Owner stating. “She was not coming in on Sat to track down this part for you” and we were free to use anyone else that could find one.. Which under normal circumstances seems reasonable if they would have stated that on the initial call we could have switched gears right away... I understand traffic and work load and how that effects a business’s capability to serve every emergency with the Red Alert response that we ALL demand in these circumstances.
    If you are a business that sells or services mechanical components, appliances & electronic items you are scrutinized even more because of the short life of these items compared to the past. The equipment you install and service become part of your reputation so when it goes out or breaks you get paid to take care of it and right or wrong deal with the customer’s anxiety and emotion. In the case of HVAC services the stakes are even higher in regard to a family’s health & welfare. Harrington Bros management and ownership have a very LOW value for these concerns Based on the way they handled this for us TODAY.
    ** GK Smith and Sons in Paola KS came out and handled this for us in 1 hr. and the bill was reasonable and my wife’s heart rate has come down considerably.. They are our new HVAC service and repair company. We will no longer bogg down Harrington Bros HVAC of Lenexa serving the Greater Kansas City area anymore.
    I have been in sales for 20 yrs. and every business I have worked for has one simple Credo: “You build your business one customer at a time and you lose your business one customer at a time”. I am reasonable and understand that the customer service experience is not always perfect but the one thing you can always control is Attitude and if you care it will show and if you don’t that will show as well. Obviously today Harrington Bros lost a customer based on ATTITUDE.
