By PjJuly 31, 2017Leaky faucetRead more
Big fat ZERO! I had a leaky faucet. Called American Homeshield, they, sent Harry Bordt Plumbing. Tech seemed very nice when he was at my house. He temporarily fixed the leak and we discussed the faucet was difficult to turn also. He said I needed a new faucet and took the sticker off the faucet because he said he would call American Standard and they would replace it under there apparent lifetime warranty. This all happened on 7/6/17. Well, on 7/20, I hadn't heard. I gave him time because I figured it would take a couple weeks to get the new faucet shipped to him. I called the office and was told by the woman who answered that the tech (Eric?) told her American standard would not warranty my faucet and AHS would not cover it. He told me I needed a new faucet, so I was confused. I then called AHS to ask why they weren't covering it. AHS stated, the tech called them on 7/6 and stated nothing was wrong with my faucet and I just wanted a new one because I didn't like mine. REALLY!!! I told AHS at that time this tech is a liar. AHS set up a recall due to my faucet was leaking again. I called Bordt Plumbing 4xs and each time the woman in the office said she would give the tech a message to call me. I wanted to call me before he came back to my house so he and I could discuss why he told me one thing and then reported a complete lie to AHS. Needless to say, I never received a call from him. I called AHS and advised them I DO NOT want this company back to my house. Let's go back to the tech saying I just wanted a new faucet because I didn't like mine. Now what kind of sense does that make! He left here with my model number, to try and get the maker of the faucet to send a new one under warranty. I was fine with that, that was our agreement when he left. UM hello!!! I would have gotten the same exact faucet!!! So, that lie doesn't work. I found out on my own that American standard faucet companys warranties are non transferable and that is why they would not send him a new one. I had to do this because he never even called me to let me know this. HORRIBLE!!!

By J. C.January 29, 2017Bathroom toilet leak$752 days
Harry Bordt was assigned to me 3 times by AHS for 3 of my rentals. He is by far the WORST, most inept, and dishonest plumber I've ever encountered in 40 years of owning rentals and flipping houses! Once, he "fixed" a leaking toilet in 2 minutes by caulking around the toilet base! Of course the leak pushed through the caulking in an hour and when I called him to come back and correct it, he tried to get another $75 service fee from my tenant! He actually told my tenant that I said he should pay for it and that I would reimburse him, which was a complete lie! I told him to remove the toilet to fix the leak and he did. But when he replaced the toilet, he screwed one of the bolts too tight and cracked the toilet! He is by far the worst plumber ever. And his office is extremely rude. Beware!

I have First American Home Warranty and they sent me Harry Bordts company.
Amazing work and work ethic. His staff: wife Charlotte, DIL, Kim and Mr. Bordt himself are amazing, totally worked through tfe day to take my tub area down to the studs.
I recorded the progress every day as my family is nuts about updates. The process was awesome! And fast!
My condo was built in 1975, and was the worse for wear: mold, waterlogged and disintegrating sheet rock, tiles falling on my feet while I showered.. icky..
Within a couple days past a week, he was here daily, mixing me in when he had to wait on a process with his other clients fir their situation to dry, and while mine was curing, he handled his other clients.
I love the work, the work ethic and the fact that I was treated with respect by the whole company.
I would DEFINITELY recommend Mr. Bordt and his staff to anyone else who needs his line if work
Next? My kitchen!!

Everyone can make a mistake but when you do I would really think a company would want to acknowledge it and make it right.
Because I see in so many of the review responses from Bordt Plumbing telling people who complained about them to get their facts straight I would like to start off by saying I have copies of emails back-and-forth and also statements from tenants and pictures and video to back up anything I say
Harry Bordt was dispatched by my home warranty company and on the list of what he was to do it said Faucets, leaks and water closet (which means toilet) on a duplex
I thought that seemed a little vague and as I told Harry's office one of the tenants would not be home but the door would be open so I thought I was doing them a favor by sending them a detailed email saying we had an overflowing toilet on one side and a bad cartridge in the hall shower on the other side along with the Faucet problem in the kitchen
Regarding the overflowing toilet the 88-year-old woman living there told Eric that her son had turned off The water below to keep the room from flooding further
This son had told me it was a bad fill valve which is what I called into American Home Shield and also told Bordt plumbing before they came out in my email
Instead the plumber told the warranty company that the problem was the crack in the toilet tank and therefore the toilet was not covered
Even fix the faucet on the other side but failed to do anything with the hall bathroom leak from the cartridge
I called another plumber who went and bought a toilet from Home Depot brought it over to the house and then called me and said there's no crack in this toilet the only thing it needs is a fill valve
We talked the toilet back put in the fill valve which is what I had originally said what's the problem and the toilet is working fine
It is now two months later and still no leak from the suppose it crack
I was out of town so I could not check any of this until just recently when I got back and I took video of the toilet because there is no crack there is no water leaking from any crack and the problem was as stated in over fill valve which they refused to do because of this supposed to crack
When I told the older what the second plumber said and that I wanted a refund he told me he was not going to give me one and that if I wanted him to come out to the house he would charge me $150 if there was any crack
Since he had told me previously that cracks or sometimes formed when the toilet is made I said to him seeing as it is not leaking after two months and the problem was the fill valve that I had originally called in I'd like a refund
He then had the gall to call the home warranty company and tell them to charge me another hundred dollars service call because the request to fix the whole cartridge was never told to him

By tjcb351October 7, 2016Plumbing emergency
One of the most horrible customer services experienced ever received, and I am from NY. She hung up on me, wouldn't answer the phone 4 times trying to reach her. She lied about her plumber in an emergency rather than dealing with my problems. I had to take the day off from work and sat waiting for a response from the plumber who stated that he was going shopping and would be back, so I sat from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This is not the first time that we have had a problem with the vendor. The vendor is a select vendor for American Home Shield AHS and I have notified them that I do not want Bordt near my house.

He had no clue what he was doing when repairing my water situation. I stood by outside while he was on the phone getting a paint by number detail of how to hook up a basic wiring for a water switch. When it was all done and said, this clueless individual cracked a water pipe and did not even put in a basic piece to keep the water pipes from shaking violently every time the water shut off. How he still has a license is beyond me, be very afraid.

I have a warranty company that used Bordt to fix a "no water" issue. With-in a few hours, they showed up & corrected the issue. It was for a rental home, so it was quite important to me. My tenant also commented on the professionalism of this company. If I ever need their service, I would be happy to use again and would always recommend them!

Mr Bordt and his company Bordt plumbing are a trip. He was contracted to fix a leaky shut off valve of mine by American Home Shield. His office contacted me to set up a time. We agreed on a time between 9 and 12. I asked if I could be called before the service man headed to the place because it is a Rental unit I have and I live 5 minutes away and I did not want to have to set in the driveway for 3 hours if they didn't come till 12. I was told they do not make phone calls before the serviceman comes it was a waste of their time. But I guess it's okay if it's a waste of my time sitting in the driveway for possibly 3 hours. I was told By the office that's just their policy. So I try to schedule it for 4 o'clock When my tenant would be home They said they do not schedule appointments that late. So I asked if Mr. BORDT Could call me. When he called me He confirmed that they do not make calls it was a waste of their time
and that he was giving Me a discount rate. I reminded him that it was not me that Contracted him so It was not me he was giving the discount rate too it was American Home Shield And if he was not happy with his arrangement between American Home Shield and him and that had nothing to do with him not wanting to call me before he came. I just don't understand what is so hard to make a phone call when your on your way It is a bad policy. I do not think I have had any kind of a service call were you don't get a phone call that when they are on the way Needless to say we had a few words after that and I told him to cancel the App.
So if you have American Home Shield I found out that's the only Plumber they have in the Fort Myers area So be aware of that. And if you just need a plumber I don't think he is your guy -
By Greg P.November 23, 2015Fixed a leak$1001 dayGreat Plumber
Harry came out and fixed a leak above our water heater. He was on time, pleasant, professional, and cleaned up after himself. The only charge was the deductible from the warranty company. I would recommend Harry to anyone in need of a plumber.

By General C.October 26, 2015water heater$9671 dayLow Class plumber?
Harry came out and was having a bad day, he decided to overcharge the AHS customer. He walked away leaving the customer with no running water. American Home Shield should cancel any contract with this guy. He can be unreliable and bad news, why take the chance? He has a policy of charging extra for Home Warranty customers. See the other reviews.

By Jennifer S.July 7, 2015repair two plumbing failures.$601 dayExcellent Plumbers
I had a bathroom sink that was pouring water on the floor and potentially damaging my cabinets and a clogged shower drain. I called it in to First American Home Warranty and they assigned a contractor- Reel Plumbers. Spoke with Chris at Reel Plumbers and he was very curt -told me that he didn't know when he could get here - but it would be at least two days, not a good experience! Called First American back and spoke with Dawn (awesome customer service skills) and she reassigned me to Bordt. They called immediately and made an appointment for 7-9am the following morning. Showed up promptly and did an excellent job!! Personable, professional and clean - would highly recommend this company for any plumbing issues.

By AnonymousJune 5, 2015Hot water tank replacement$3103 daysPlumbing Contractor- with insane install price
I have American Home Shield. My hot water tank started leaking. I called AHS,my copay is $75.00, they had Harry Bordt Plumbing come look at it and give me a price. .Bordt wanted $245.00 for what they called a pipe modification to install the water heater. Normal install fee is included. Any modification is extra and I have to pay. That is an insane amount to connect the new water heater. The water heater is in my garage, easy access. That is after my $75.00 service fee for them to come. They wanted $65.00 for an expansion tank. I have no problem with that price. I understand he has to make money on it, but lets be fair.$100.00 would have been more than fair. Installing it takes less that 30 minutes. Luckily for me I worked in the construction field for over 30 years. I have friends that are plumbers. I bought the water heater and had one of them help me with installing it. I WILL NEVER USE BORDT PLUMBING AGAIN. If you happen to use them, get a second plumber to give you a price. I also have to question if American Home shield is worth the cost. I have been using them for several years and up to now, they have been good. They ( AHS ) told me there are three things that I may have to pay extra for in their contract that may require extra work to be done for putting in the new unit.. 1) water heater, 2) installing new a/c unit and 3) installing new furnace. I understand the a/c unit and furnace. A normal water heater install is very easy to do and should NOT cost $245.00

Harry Bordt has done at least 8 to 10 hot water heaters in our community. He is always courteous professional and respectful. He does what he says when he says he’s going to do it. Always on time and performed excellent work. His rates are average Price. And his work as well above standard. I have used him twice, and referred him at least a dozen times with the same excellent feedback from the people I have sent him to. I tell people “if you can’t get along with Harry, you probably got some personal issues”.
