Harry or “Sonny” originally quoted me a certain bid for a small painting job on a house. Once he came to my house and realized I am a single woman he tripled my original quote. I had given him money for the paint, his time shopping and labor prior to him starting. When the job was done, he took half the time he had quoted and failed to present any receipts or breakdown of the bill. We never had a signed contract agreeing to the price and when he was done he requested 5x his original quote even though it took him half the time. I paid him more than fair and even over the original agreed price. He was not happy and came to my home and threatened me and my family. Police were called and recommended I file a restraining order

Harry or "Sonny" originally quoted me a certain bid for a small painting job on my house exterior. He told me he was a Contractor and when I asked for a business card he said that he doesn't have any, he only does referrals. Once he came to my house to begin the job, and it was clear that I am a single woman, he tripled my original quote. I gave him money for the paint, his time shopping, and labor prior to him even starting. When the job was done, it had taken about 2/3 of the time quoted and he failed to present any receipts or my requested breakdown on an invoice. He never had a signed contract agreeing to any price, and when he was done he threatened to sue me for 5X his original quote even though it took him less time than he'd told me it would originally. I paid him more than fair, giving him an itemized breakdown, and even over the original price he had quoted me, but he was very angry and came to my home and threatened me and my family. The police were called and they recommended I file a restraining order. I researched his name and discovered Harry has not been licensed since April 2019. It states that "Any contractor, including a painting and decorating contractor, who works on a project that costs $500 or more must be licensed by the CSLB." I paid him well over $500.
