    Worst experience we have ever had with any type of company. Misleading and deceptive business practices have caused us to fire this "contractor" after 9 months of frustration. The work that they DID do was sub par and we have already to fix it ourselves. Claimed they needed money to order kitchen cabinets in November to avoid the holiday slow down. After months of waiting, and being told they had the cabinets in their warehouse, we called the cabinet company and were told there was never an order placed. The owner is quick to blame others for delays and come up with excuses, and more promises. Do your research and you will see more this company has done wrong. It's a shame companies like this exist.

    Complete renovation
    $45,000

    DO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR. Contract signed on 19 February 2020, for a total renovation of our Destin condo; we have paid almost $45000.00 to Hart's Construction of NW FL, Inc., and received very little and very substandard work;.
    After nearly 5-months, demo and clean up is not yet completed; electrical subcontractor has not been paid the total amount for the rough-in work, even though funds were requested and provided to Hart's Construction specifically designated for electrical rough-in. We have learned from the Lynn Haven PD in Bay County, FL, that in April, 2020, William Hart (owner) was arrested and charged for taking money from people and doing NO WORK WHATSOEVER (Contractor fraud, theft by fraud), and his GC License was revoked/suspended immediately as a condition of his bail bond, pending his upcoming arraignment at the end of July.
    Mr. Hart continued to present himself as a licensed GC to us, and did not disclose this arrest and license suspension, all while continuing to press us for more funds to keep work going.
    During this time, we were continually assured by Mr. Hart that the necessary work to complete the rough-in inspections for Electrical, HVAC, and Plumbing would be done, and the inspections were forthcoming; in reality, Mr. Hart's GC License had been revoked/suspended and accordingly not only was his company not licensed to even DO the work, he could not schedule any inspections because his license was revoked/suspended.
    I have renovated numerous properties and have never seen such a low level of workmanship and such a high level of deceit in any contractor.
    I have fired this company, and have hired a lawyer and made a formal complaint to the Florida State Licensing Board and the Okaloosa County Licensing Board.
    I have been told by the Lynn Haven PD that his continued false portrayal to us as a licensed GC and his continuing to solicit funds from us as a licensed GC subsequent to his arrest in April, 2020, in Bay County, FL, may be a violation of his bail bond, so I am filing a report with the Okaloosa Sheriff's office in the hope that he will be picked up for violating the conditions of his bail and will be re-arrested and put back in prison.

    Comprehensive repairs post hurricane Michael: Siding, floors, kitchen, bathrooms.

    DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. I am a Department of Defense employee stationed overseas. My property, located in Northwest Florida, suffered extensive damage during hurricane Michael in 2018. During December 2019, I hired Hart's Construction of NW FL (HCNWFL) to make repairs, and paid circa $41,000.00 for materials and commencement of the project. From December 2019 to March 2020, HCNWFL sent me numerous emails and called me reporting their progress. However, their reports were not truthful. HCNWFL did no work. This company in fact never even bothered obtaining any permit for any work on the property. Upon discovering the facts in March 2020, I fired HCNWFL for failure to perform and making false statements. I also asked for a refund. To date, they have refused to provide a refund. I will likely have to take legal action to recover the funds. The property still unlivable in need of repairs.

    Bathroom Remodel

    Do NOT use this business. Contract signed on 16 July 2019. Bathroom still incomplete on 16 January 2020 after tear out on Aug 28 2019. Hart construction did not communicate well. On many occasions I would not receive a response for weeks. When promised work dates, they would not show and never received notice of it. My home was constantly dirty from crews not cleaning up. On one occasion my home was covered in drywall dust because they did not seal off the bathroom and turned the AC on spreading dust throughout my home. It was so bad I needed to clean my dishes in my kitchen cabinets that were covered. Employees drinking on the job, bringing significant others to work site and letting my puppy out without supervision to the detriment of my home. After much frustration they were fired and I am pursuing legal means to recover payment. I will be hiring another contractor to complete a simple bathroom remodel. Again, DO NOT HIRE.
