Unfortunately, I am unable to give Hatteras Pools a zero star since that what's truly deserved. We went under contract with Hatteras Pools 9/28/2021 and Hatteras Pools was paid a $25,000 deposit. There has been nothing but issues every since.
Since then, they have been paid about another additional $32,000 and have more pending payments but only continually to provide poor workmanship and damages to my property and only promise to correct the issues but doesn't just to keep getting money for work not done correctly the first time.
Hatteras Pools has damaged or poorly installed: my concrete driveway in four sections at about 800 square feet which cannot be repaired and must be replaced which was estimated at $7 square foot causing at least $5600 damage. They installed crooked steps, installed uneven retaining wall sides, failed to put enough gravel between the retaining wall blocks, failed to glue all the retaining wall top caps, left excess grout on several places smeared on top of the travertine, set the pool in the excavation uneven, installed the concrete pool deck incorrectly causing one section to drain water into the pool instead of the water running towards the drain in one section, once concrete section of the concrete pool deck holds water and doesn't drain properly when it rains, there is concrete splatter on the side of the house from pouring concrete and was never removed, the drainage solution installed holds water and doesn't drain properly, and they left two piles of dirt in visible view in back of my property that wasn't smoothed out or hauled away, there is gelcoat cracks in the coating of the pool already, they used my personal water to finish filling up the pool for up to 3 foot of water and I was never reimbursed, they damaged the insulation under backflow cover to turnoff the irrigation when they broke it, the pool pump will not stay because the circuit breaker keeps tripping, and the Final Electrical inspection was never called in even though it was part of the initial $25,000 deposit paid. And none of these items has been resolved.
Hatteras Pools workers cleaned their construction tools in my pool, they had dirt in the pool, gravel, trash and debris turning the water brownish green and they didn't even run power to the pool pump for about 2 months, causing me to constantly remove accessible trash and debris out the pool personally and then end up having to pay $700 for a pool cleaning. Hatteras Pool didn't reimburse me for that either because they said they do not clean pools because they are not in the pool cleaning business.
There was no communication from Hatteras Pools between 12/6/21-2/22/22 until I paid an overdue 90-day late balance they had resulted in an active account tied to my address with Mecklenburg County Code Enforcement in which I paid for $400.06 on 2/21/22. I was not even reimbursed for their unpaid collection bill. When they found out likely on 2/22/22 that I paid their bill, Hatteras Pools reached back out only to ask for more money, and not resolve any of the issues dating back to October 2021 associated with the $25,000 deposit paid, nor correcting issues associated with the additional $32,000 paid, nor correcting issues on work that followed that also has poor workmanship with pending payments.
And this project is not even compete yet.

Horrible experience with Hatteras pools, they are not worth the money and the company lies and doesn’t stand behind their warranty. Excuse after excuse about why their pools fail. Look elsewhere for a pool. You will be completely unsatisfied with the quality of their work and pools

Hatteras Pools does not stand behind their lifetime warranty. Our gel coat has cracks and bubbles. The few repairs that were made still look awful. We get excuse after excuse. The quality of our pool is not what they state it should be. We DO NOT recommend Hatteras Pools.

Gell coat has a crack and has been cracked for two years. They know it and give you the excuse that they don't have anybody to come fix it. Poor customer service! Do not buy here!

Our experience with Hatteras Pools was awful. Our initial contact with Scott Mcneil seemed pleasant and easy, things seem to be going well until the day our pool was installed. The pool we ordered was a Beaufort, however the pool we recieved looked more like a deformed worm. We brought this to Scott Mcneil attention immediately, and he said the pamphlet he had showed us with pool shapes and sizes, during our initial meeting us was printed wrong. He said if we didn't want the pool he would remove it for 8k. Next issue with the pool he left in our yard is that it sprung a leak the very next day after being installed. Now less than 6 months after our purchase, the pool shell is cracked and bulged and looks like a 50 year old pool. Of course Hatteras pools doesn't honor their warranty which states they will fix the gel coat and cracks. Scott mcneil is a liar at best and a fraud. Hatteras pools are not good quality and the integrity of the owners is awful. I would never recommend purchasing a Hatteras pool to anyone.

No stars, buyer beware. They make sub-par shells and make broken promises that they can repair it. We called out some white spots on a sand colored shell the day it was delivered and I was promised they would make it whole and no worries they can fix it. We have major gel coat issues with ours. Joe admitted in writing that if the warehouse workers take the shell off the mold and there are blemishes they are instructed to repair vs. starting over and making a new shell. That means there molds are bad and need destroyed. Any reputable fiberglass pool company will retire a mold if it starts to produce imperfections on the fiberglass shells. Joe the owner will blame you and is completely rude and lies over and over. Do your self a favor and get a pool from someone else!
