By Mike W.September 23, 2015Build a multi-purpose building-$257 daysVery pleased
Ben built a multi-purpose building for us this summer. We designed the building as best we could and Ben worked with us to create exactly what we envisioned. He was very careful to make sure he was doing what we needed/wanted and stayed in touch with us throughout the entire process, ready to change direction if we decided we wanted something changed. We enjoyed interacting with him and his entire crew while they worked. We are so very pleased with the finished product and would not hesitate to recommend Ben Heath to anyone who asks.

Ben Heath did approximately $60,000.00 worth of work for me and my husband . He reworked my entire kitchen, bathrooms ,and livingroom. His work was first class and he was very helpful throughout the entire project. I highly recommend his services and will definitely use him in the future.

By Kathy M.August 27, 2015Bathroom Repair and Remodel$1,8005 daysHeath BenRead more
I hired Ben Heath to repair and replace a plumbing leak in the floor under my shower. Replace the shower with a new one and paint the room. He quoted a price. He repaired the floor, he removed the old shower and installed a new one. Everything went according to plan. He asked me for a $1,000 partial payment. I gave it to him. Then he painted the bathroom. He didn't remove the prints, wall cabinet or the mirror. All the nails were still in the wall. Doors were half painted and door frames weren't painted at all. There was a hole in the door. He didn't repair the hole, he just painted over it. There were splotches of semi gloss on the wall. One door had flat wall paint. I cried. He replaced one piece of wood on the floor beside the shower. I don't know what he did under the house. After the paint disaster I pulled away some of the linoleum and the floor was rotted all the way down the side of the shower. He said he didn't see it. He begrudgingly repaired the floor. It's not level. He refused to paint the room properly. I wanted to start with freshly painted walls. No nail holes. I didn't want to leave the cabinet hanging on the wall.
Then he started to intimidate me, saying he wanted the rest of his money. I gave it to him. He didn't do any more work. He didn't repaint the bathroom. He didn't even haul away his trash. I called him on the phone and told him that I would stop payment on the last check if he didn't finish the work. He laughed at me and said he had already cashed the check and he wasn't going to do anything else. The end.

If I could leave 10 negative stars I would. That's how bad it is
Ben Heath: I paid him to replace part of a floor and paint a room. I had to pay a professional to replace the entire job. If you decide to hire him
1: Get a detailed quote - I asked for one but after 3 days of lying he admitted he couldn't provide one.
2. Don't trust him to do anything unless you stand over him and watch him. If you don't, he is sloppy and you have to point out everything he is supposed to do. Rotten boards that he missed because "he didn't look that far down".
3. If you ask him to paint a room you must specify that you want everything taken off the wall, fill in the nail holes, and leave it with a clean slate. Watch him, I had to show him the difference between the can of flat wall paint and the semi-gloss trim paint. He still used the semi-gloss trim paint to paint my ceiling.
4. Don't give him any money until he completes the job to your satisfaction - no matter how much he whines for it.
The contractor I hired to tear out the job and finish it properly knows Ben Heath. He asked who the contractor was and his body jerked in surprise when I told him. He said over and over "I can't believe he did this". He laughed when he saw the botched up scrap plywood that he nailed to the floor like puzzle pieces
Personally, I would never let him in my home again. I want to pay a professional who will come in and do the job I am paying for. I want a contractor I can trust not to rip me off just because he can. Ben Heath is not a professional. If you want a good old boy to stand around and chat with and you have time to watch every move he makes, he's your man.
I don't have time to do that and I don't know anything about what he is supposed to do. Take my advice, hire a professional.
