SOUTHWIND.... DO NOT BUILD WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!! STOP!!!STOP!!!! STOP!!! STOP!!!! STOP!!!! STOP!!!! STOP!!!!!
Buyers, please be aware. This is a very shady company that is only concerned with making a profit. I went under contract with HH in February of 2021, earnest money paid in full. I was initially told that the house would be completed in September 2021. I selected ALL upgrade options and paid money in full for all in April 2021. There were multiple delays!! Ground breaking did not occur until August/September. Then, I was told that the house would be ready for closing in November, then December, then January. I finally receive a close date for 1/21/22. In December, flooring options that were selected in April were ALL discontinued. I had to select new flooring three times!! The water meters were also delayed. The builder said it was because Fulton County was slow with processing the request. A week before closing 1/11/2021, the builders agent Natasha, informed me that the builder (Daniel) was cancelling all contracts and raising the price of my home under contract by over 60,000. As a result, I was outpriced. I was then told by the builders agent that there was nothing that can be done. The builder was not willing to work with me by providing any assistance towards closing cost. In addition, the builder was not willing to give me the incentives for teachers (although I am an educator, but not a classroom teacher. I hold a GA teachers certificate from the GA DOE certifying that I can work with students PK-12 grade and I'm employed with one of the metro Atlanta public school systems). I was then told by the builders agent that this is a seller's market and that if I didn't sign the new contract, she would have a new contract (all cash offer) written-up by the end of the day. After reading over reviews, I decided to walk away from Heatherland Homes. In the contract it stated that If the seller defaults on the contract, the seller would pay the buyer $250. This company is giving me the complete run around to obtain this money. I made the request known to the builders agent. She included it in the T&R and we all signed it. Then the builders agent voids that T&R and tells me that I have to write a letter to the company requesting the $250, per the builder (Daniel). This has been a complete nightmare. I have wasted and entire year of my life waiting for this home to be completed to only walk away with no where to live. This company is completely shady!!!! DO NOT PURCHASE FROM HEATHERLAND HOMES!!!! -

I had an amazing experience with Heatherland Homes. We love our new home in Lakeview at Heron Bay. Carrie Williams and Mr. Tim have been valuable resources for us. If I had any questions or concerns, I would get a prompt response by email or text. Without hesitation I would definitely recommend Heatherland Homes for your next home purchase.

They have a great selection of floor plans, BUT I would not recommend this builder. As already said, they do not keep their promises, and work is of very poor quality. Landscaping is also poor. There is no pool, or clubhouse - knock yourself out if you are a dog owner - there is a dog park! All the lovely detailed finishes must be in the staged houses, because my community has a bucket load of complaints about unfinished houses, with piss poor workmanship.

My buying experience with Heatherland Homes was treacherous. We signed our contract August 2018 promised initial closing Jan. Delayed til Feb and final
closing took place in APRIL 2019, all due to builder delay and errors like firing crew, switch contractors, forgetting to order water meters, ordering and installing wrong products etc. We were promised 90 days but at the latest 120! That’s 4 months and it took 8. Things were so behind schedule that we considered walking away from
The deal until speaking with James (president) and DeAngelo(closing contractor) who were amazing and THE ONLY reasons we continued to do business with HH. During the time they also had an awesome Sales agent who was on top of things named Shakia who worked for Hathaway and I absolutely adored
Her. Barely a month after closing we experienced electrical malfunctioning, plumbing problems and the items to be fixed on our closing walk through still
Have not been done and it’s now AUGUST 2019. What a huge disappointment that once they get you locked in and your money there is absolutely no sense of urgency. I have reached out to their representative Daniel numerous times to be receive a hostile and condescending tone on the phone and told to just contact 2-10 warranty because these aren’t his problems or errors. Not to mention Today Daniel trespassed on my property and had the audacity to call the cops on my family after harassing my sister and Husband and accusing them of disposing building materials on their lot and damaging a retaining wall that they destroyed. I think
The worst part was him laughing in my face when discussing all the issues going on with my
NEW BUILD. One of their workers also backed into our mailbox today, which was caught on camera but no one ever bothered to stop by and offer to repair. Luckily we had evidence to provide the officer and we will be filing a harassment complaint through Union City as well as one with the company. I would not
Recommend this builder to anyone until maybe they restructure their customer service and have better representatives to use as the face of the organization. DO NOT IGNORE CUSTOMER REVIEWS. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and ended up screwed and displeased just like the other buyers. -
By TanJuly 1, 2019Build a new basement lot from ground up
I had a client contract on a lot in Fulton County. Unfortunately they don't provide their onsite agents with needed info to properly write contracts. Took 4 days to get an answer about double oven costs, took 24 days to from writing contract to find out they misquoted price of basement by $8k, also said would close in 90 days with no land cleared then says it will be an extra 1.5 months later more likely. My client had to be in a home before that. Now getting to get the earnest money returned and being told it will take until a week plus later for them to do so. This is the poorest customer service I've ever experienced working with any builder in my 20+ years as an agent. I feel sorry for their onsite agents who don't appear to be getting the support needed. Personally until they do better,,I can't recommend them.

My experience with Heatherland homes is horrible. The builders that they hire do not keep their promises. All they care about is closing. They do not completely finish the home or they landscaping. I will never refer them to a home buyer.

I’m not even sure where to start. We looked at a lot in the Camden Lake subdivision in August 2018. We signed the contract early September with the closing date being 12-19 (at the latest). We were in a position that we had to close on our old home and new home at the same time. No family local, kids in school, etc. it’s a rural area and no local hotels that school buses p/u as my husband and I both work and rely on busses to get our middle schooler to school and home. Knowing this, the closing date was extended beyond the original date of before Thanksgiving just in case. The house we sold went under contract quickly. Anyways, we signed contract in early September and foundation and plumbing had already been installed. No more work until the 1st Monday in October. Once framing started, it went quickly...and then stopped. On 11-10, we were told the builder (this was the 2nd to work in this subdivision) had been fired, but closing was still set for 12-19-not earlier. 11-17, I went by to look at progress (1 month before closing) and electrical still wasn’t installed. The builders agent was on site. She informed me that the new builder was the superintendent and was trying to get everything finished up in the subdivision but it would not be ready until after New Years-could not give specific date. I told her we were not able to extend contract. The agent was not at all concerned about the situation this placed us in, but wanted to know immediately if we didn’t want the home so they wouldn’t put the cabinets and countertops that I picked out, in!! I understand business is business but really??!! We rescinded our contract the next day and they said it would go under review to determine if we could get earnest money back-they did return, as it was no fault if our own that we did not close on the contract date. I just wanted to share my experience in case anyone else ends up in a situation like ours. PLSASE, PLEASE, PLEASE give yourself an additional 2 months if using Heatherland Homes! I

I am the stager for Heatherland Homes and would highly recommend their company. The homes are beautiful and well built with top quality products. They are efficient yet detail oriented. Very professional and courteous staff members. The builder leaves no stone unturned.

I wish that I could give it a lower rating than one star. Very poor home construction quality and there are all kinds of issues from day 1, like painting, flooring, roof, gaps in doors and windows, water leaks, etc. You will need to call the builder and the warranty company dozens of times to get any kind of attention from them. No concept of customer care or any professionalism on how they operate. Most of the issues are still not fixed even after one year of living there - so the one-year warranty that they provide is pretty useless. They make you beg for the simplest of repairs, even though they are supposed to be covered by warranty.
have been left with no choice but to hire my own technicians and get them repaired myself at my own cost. I will never buy again with this company and warn you to beware. ABSOLUTE WORST QUALITY AND EXPERIENCE!
