    Two level addition

Could not have been a more positive experience. Well organized team that worked at a high level consistently. Finished on time in an 8 month project involving a two level addition and kitchen renovation. Jason and his brother Wes are top notch and their employees are thorough and hard working. The quality of the work, the pricing, and their prompt reply to questions were appreciated! They get jobs by word of mouth from referrals bt happy clients. I found out about them from a friend’s remodel that they did in Somerset/Chevy Chase.

    Great room and powder room
    $190,000
    120 days

Jason did an excellent job for us: adding a great room and powder room flowing out from the kitchen so that kitchen and great room were one (took off back wall of the house). He finished in four months which was exactly the time he had estimated. His staff were great to work with and very helpful with our changes along the way. Mary and Singh

I am amazed at these negative reviews of Heb-N-Co. Jason and his team are just completing a very large and fairly complex home renovation job for me over the last 11 months. His work ethics, his workmanship and the quality of his work has been exemplary and his prices were reasonable. His team of painters, electricians and plumbers are excellent. He helped solve complex structural problems, installed high-quality European kitchen cabinets and wall-hung toilets perfectly, and has a team of excellent workers on call who are treated fairly and with respect. Everyone who has seen the house has commented on the quality of the workmanship.

All billing and receipts were received whenever I asked, and before any payments requests were made. Jason has made it a point to prepare punch lists and to follow through on every single one of the items on the list. I find him one of the most honest and straight-forward contractors I have ever worked with. And I have worked with quite a few before this. I can't say enough good things about him and Heb-N-Co would CERTAINLY use them again for future jobs --no question at all. I found Jason through friends who's house he had renovated and they too are thrilled with him. And I tend to be a picky and somewhat fussy customer. So if I am satisfied, i don't know why anyone else would not be.

I don't understand all the negative reviews on heb-n-co. We used Jason for our house renovation. He did a really good job. We have strangers telling us how much they like the renovated house. He used a really good tile guy. Our bathrooms look great. He always gave us invoices when asking for payment. At the beginning of the project there is a payment schedule that we follow. Anything that we found wrong he would fix them in timely manner. He actually did all the punch list items himself. We found Jason through our friends who also used him before. They are very happy with him as well.

I would encourage anyone who has had an issue with this company to complain directly to the Montgomery county Better Business Bureau. Heb-N-Co currently enjoys an "A+" rating because they've had no complaints opened against them.

You can see their rating and file a complaint here:

We had Jason, owner of Heb n Co, do some work on our house (new kitchen, master bathroom, repaint all ceilings and walls, some electrical and plumbing, powder room, roofing, misc projects). He is a generally likeable guy and I enjoyed working with him in the beginning. His estimate was reasonable and he started immediately. Things were great the first two weeks and then . . .it all changed. He was suddenly pretty tough to get in touch with. We were told to hurry and order bathroom tile right away and then it sat for over a month. By the way, we were renting an apartment until the job was done so this was costing us a lot of money to wait. Eventually we moved into the unfinished basement.

In the end, the bathroom tile was really crooked and the grout cracked within weeks. It grew mold in a month. It was supposed to be fixed but months later, that never happened. We also didn't understand why the plumber was sent over to work on the kitchen cabinets because he really didn't have any experience and he ended up ruining a cabinet door. Jason also cut the mantle in our family room too small and then told us it really wasn't a big deal (he doesn't look at it every day!)

We thought he was pretty disorganized with billing. One day he told us he needed money so I told him I'd write a check but needed invoices. We never got the invoices or receipts that we needed for taxes, he cashed the check and he never came back to finish the work (even after we had a serious leak through a door he apparently fixed).

I tried to get in touch with him for a while but he didn't respond. He spent a lot of time talking about what a good guy he was and I bought it. I think he wants to be that person but for whatever reason, he was unable to honor his obligations with us.

Much of the time, I felt he was trying to do his best but there were quite a few ridiculous mistakes (plumber doing cabinets, dryer vented into closet instead of outside, putting outlets in areas that were marked off for mirrors, using significantly damaged wood to frame a window).

I wish I had found reviews online before we signed on - maybe that would have saved us some money and a lot of frustrations. By the way, the effort and cost to repair things he didn't come back to fix was pretty significant.

It's too bad it ended this way but we really tried and next time I will get more references.
