Before the purchase of our house we negotiated roof work into the sale. We did not have the option to pick the contractor. After work was completed we signed on the house. Within the first year in the house during the rainy season we spotted leaks in the attic. We called Hedgecock Roofing multiple times to have them come out and remedy the situation. First visit they refused to go into the attic to check for the leaks. Their excuse was that the water was coming in from the siding. I asked how it was possible for the rain to come in the side of the house and then drip down six and eight feet away from the exterior wall.
We continued to call Hedgecock and asked for their insurance info which they did not offer. After that they came out and tried to fix our leaks. Since then I have done the work myself but could not keep up with the damage that was done by their neglect and lack of professionalism.
Other faults that we have been informed of is that the ridge vents were not cut properly. The only real work done to the roof was roofing paper and shingles and a ridge vent partially cut.
The 20 year guarantee on work is useless with this company now that they have changed their name.
I can’t believe the building inspector singed off on the project.
