I am sharing my experience to warn others about Tyler Heidebrecht of Heidebrecht Homes.
I purchased a flipped home by Tyler. During the inspection period, there was no obvious issue with the bathtub. However, months later, I discovered a major leak from the bathtub overflow drain that caused $5,400 in damage to my home.
A licensed plumber inspected the issue and confirmed:
• The overflow drain was installed using incorrect plumbing materials.
• A gasket was never installed.
• Instead of properly sealing it, a large lump of silicone was used to fill the gaps — an improper and temporary fix.
• This is clearly poor workmanship, not normal wear and tear or a product defect.
When I contacted Tyler to address the matter, he:
1. Denied responsibility and claimed the bathtub and plumbing were not replaced during the flip — a statement that contradicts the reality of the work done.
2. Suggested I file a home warranty or insurance claim, attempting to shift the financial burden onto me, despite the fact that this was a workmanship failure.
3. Ignored follow-up messages when I pressed for resolution.
I have since learned of another property he is currently working on where the work is reportedly poor quality and incomplete.
I have made multiple attempts to allow Tyler to take accountability and address the damage. He has refused, leaving me no choice but to file in small claims court.
Based on my experience, I do not recommend hiring or buying from Heidebrecht Homes without extensive independent inspections. In my opinion, Tyler does not take pride in his work, does not stand by it, and does not handle customer concerns responsibly.
