Mike and his team redid my entire Kitchen and my husband I couldn’t be happier; paid attention to detail and suggested things we never would have considered and only made it exceptional! By George H.February 1, 2024Complete remodel of bathroom
We hired Mike to do a complete remodel of our Cape Cod bathroom. The project took about six weeks. By far the hardest part of the remodel project was getting the town building dept to issue the 5 permits required and getting inspectors to come out. Working with Mike was a pleasure. We would meet weekly to work out paint colors, plumbing and electrical fixture locations, outlet locations etc. and it worked out well. His subcontractors where top notch and
his total contract price was significantly less then the three other local builders.
I would highly recommend him to others and would hire him again in a minute -
By Pamela B.June 15, 2023Install kitchen pantry bath cabinetry and trim$3,200
Buyer beware. Do not be charmed by Mike Lear's witty and friendly personality. I hired him on the recommendation of my kitchen designer to install kitchen/pantry/bath cabinets at my home in Mashpee. After a great start, he disappeared. He blew me off time and time again. Never provided a formal invoice or insurance certificate. You will find me stupid to have paid him in full before realizing that on top of not finishing, he also cut down and damaged cabinet parts that had to be reordered. Because he failed to discuss the plan with my designer, he installed one cabinet in the wrong spot, disrupting the layout. Rather than follow through and stand behind his work (as he assured me was one of his strengths), he ghosted me and my designer and ignored texts/calls/registered mail giving him the opportunity to make things right. Off to small claims court as the only option I can think of after sharing honest reviews with other consumers.
Response from Heirloom Construction LLC February 8, 2024There is not one detail in this "review" that is true. My business partner, you know the disabled veteran, was there. You never bought your trim, which you know is the truth. Your cabinets were sitting in your house for two years, which didn't even have lights or electricity yet because the electrician died. Your cabinets were damaged because they had been moved around an active job site for TWO YEARS. I installed what was on site, with the wrong plans provided by you. I actually tried to help you out with what you would need to do to actually have at least 1 thing finished in your house. Do you remember how incredibly rude your contractor was? So much so that you had to take me aside and apologize. There is also the fact that you were going to sue the designer, WHO WAS ALREADY BEING SUED. The truth is, I installed what was on site. There was nothing else for me to do. You and the designer didn't want to eat the money for the trim that you never ordered. I find it comical that 8 months later you send me a demand in the mail that if I don't respond or pay you some imaginary number you were going to write me negative reviews. You certainly threatened court. We both know why you chose not to pursue it. Because it is false. Onto the small claims court. My lawyer advised me to not respond and let you take me to court because the narrative above is completely false. Fortunately I have 20 years of happy customers so I will be populating sites like this, with actual reviews. Not the ramblings of a house flipper who ran out of money and tried to extort a small business.
