Our home was built by Hepler Homes and is 1.5 yrs. old. It has been a nightmare. Four months in our home and we had so many issues we found it necessary to bring in an independent inspector. He produced a 20+ page report of violations/shoddy workmanship. Our county also wrote up three pages of violations/corrections. We reported Hepler to DPOR, who cited him with 7 violations, including the usage of 5 non-licensed sub-contractors. We built on 5 acres in the woods. Hepler never shot tangents. What he thought was a 6' differential between the front and back of our home turned out to be 17'. AFTER he had excavated and poured our foundation, he called us down saying there was a "problem" and told us he required an additional 20K. We could have easily move the location of our home but Hepler never gave us the opportunity, making the decision for us. We could write a book there have been so many issues with our home. Complete re-spackling of all the walls, corrosive nails used in the crawl space, uninsulated pipes next to windows etc., etc. Just a nightmare. Urge consumers to investigate prior to hiring anyone. A long, positive review by real estate agents and colleagues does NOT guarantee quality!

We just moved into our new home built by Hepler Homes. At our first meeting with Dave he listened to our needs and our budget and was able to offer ideas and make suggestions that helped us make better decisions. Dave and his team were with us step by step, making the experience easy and rewarding. All communication with Dave was seamless, he responded to questions immediately. Building a house is an overwhelming and stressful experience, the right builder makes all the difference and Dave is that builder. His attention to detail, the quality of material he uses and the pride he and his team take in their workmanship was something we are very grateful for. Dave was transparent throughout the entire process and was true to his word when he told us the house would be completed by a certain date, which was a month earlier then expected.
