    We had an excellent experience working with Herb to convert our new home from oil to gas, remove the old boiler and oil tank, install new high efficiency min-split heat and AC units, and install a new tankless water heater. Herb responded quickly to questions, showed up when he said he would, and completed the job with high quality.

    Quoted and charged us for "top of the line" water heater and AC, then later when we had to have it all replaced by another plumber we found out those items were the cheapest and lowest grade on the market. Herb never completed anything and nothing was done to code, we had to spend a fortune with another company just to undo and fix his work.

    Herb does shoddy work and cuts corners in his installation. He did not complete the job as he had promised. Consequently we hadvtomhire another plumber to complete the work. Even according to Nationalgrid he did not finish his part of the installation of the gas hookup into the house.by painting the pipe so tha it would not rust. We had to do this. He never installed the outside temperature gauge that we had paid for and needed to hire another plumber. As well, he never responded to our calls to install the gauge. He can not be trusted!!

    A shotty liar

    It's funny how you hear nothing bad about a plumber until after the work is "done". Herb Healis's reputation proceeds itself. He is know to use the absolute bare minimum in product quality and workmanship in order to pass inspection. I only wish that was the case with our home. Mr Healis informed us the job was "all done". Only to find out months later, when the inspector came knocking on our door, that the job is far from done and needs to be finished in order to pass inspection. Herb is a liar and a thief. We are in the process of suing Mr Healis in order to get back the money we have to pay another plumber to do the job to completion and correctly. Don't let his many years in the business fool you. It only means he knows exactly how to scam you.

    Do not hire Herb. He is quick to take your money but then never does what he says he will do. Dishonest and a fast talker.

    Never use this plumber

    Worst experience possible. Herb showed up quickly to give a quote and ask for a 50% deposit up front, then we had to chase him for several months to do the work, which he never completed. We had to call another company to complete the work, only to find out that the work that Herb did do was not done to code, and that had to be done over as well. Herb didn't return calls, and when he did he was dishonest and argumentative. I would NOT recommend him for anything.

    I have to say my experience with Herb Healis was the exact opposite of the previous review. 2 years ago we changed from oil to gas heat and Mr Healis removed the old system and converted us to a new high efficiency gas system in a timely manner and for exactly what he quoted us. No surprises. No headaches. I had to call Herb once in the past year for a no heat situation in one section of our house and he came out immediately on a saturday and fixed it. I highly recommend Mr Healis.
