This review is for Ted Landrum of Heritage Electrical Services LLC, based out of Satsuma, Alabama. I was referred to Ted by a trusted family member and hired his company four months ago to install exterior lights, electric outlets, and a home generator in preparation for the hurricane season. I paid in advance for the materials, including the home generator and power panel. Here is when things start to go sideways.
While working in the attic to run the wires for the exterior lights and outlets, an employee stepped on the ceiling panel above the dining room, damaging the panel and did not tell anyone. We then had to contact Ted the next day to get it resolved. That repair was done just over a week after the ceiling was damaged. One of the outlets was installed in the wrong location so that also had to be redone. The concrete was poured for the generator and we have now been waiting two months for the completion of the installation. I have asked him to be forthcoming and honest about when or even if he could complete our job but have been left without answers and thoroughly unsatisfied.
As a business owner myself, I understand that challenges may arise, affecting the estimated completion date or price. However, there is no reason why I should have to contact the owner numerous times over the course of weeks before getting some sort of reply. When he did reply, it was always with another excuse - so many excuses and not worth writing them all here.
Hurricane season has come and gone and thankfully my elderly mother was not left in the dark this year. However, that’s no excuse for this company not to return my calls in a timely manner or get the job done. Ted Landrum took this job with no contract, has not replied to my inquiries and now I feel completely screwed. I am now leaving these reviews online is my way of WARNING others to know who you’re dealing with in advance and to get a contract so you can protect yourself from someone that does not complete the job.
At the end of the day, whether or not he finds some kind of amazing justification of his inability to get this job done in over four months, nothing can excuse his lack of communication and customer service skills.
