Heritage was hired to totally renovate 3 bathrooms in my condo a year ago plus repaint the master bedroom. The total cost of the job was approximately $65,000.
All of the work was sub-par in the extreme. For example:
1. The plumbing they installed started to leak after about 3 months and ruined the interior of part of the new vanity we had purchased. In addition the plumbing in the showers was placed so close to the ceiling that there was no room left to install the showerhead on the wall.
2. The tiles we cut unevenly, with chips at some of the edges. Further, there was no thought as to where to place them so that the finished walls looked attractive.
In addition, the tiles had to reordered multiple times because the amount needed was not calculated properly or to replace the tiles that they damaged or placed improperly. Some of the tile work was repaired (about 25%), but the balance of the work was not because it would have entailed taking down the walls to the studs and picking up the floors again.
3. When they repainted our bedroom they didn't bother to plaster the imperfections in the walls. They just painted right over them.
4. Lastly, to top off this nightmarish experience, the owner, Laszlo, walked out after he had been paid for 95% of the job (stupid me for having paid him that much!) and left me with cracks and peeling paint on the master bathroom ceiling and substandard work all over.
The owner is a charming Hungarian man whose assurances that all the problems would be taken care would almost put your mind at ease. As angry as I was with him, the anger would fade as soon as he assured you that everything would be taken care of. Boy, he was good!
I have had large amounts of work done in several other houses and have never experienced anything like this. It was a disgrace and a total con. Beware if you are thinking of ever hiring them!
