Pave my driveway, and add an asphalt sidewalk from driveway to front deck.
    $5,700

10/21/2019 - Paved my driveway and laid a sidewalk from driveway to front deck. Did my three uncles driveways as well. There unpaved driveways were crushed stone. Mine was grass. Based on the outcome, they used little to no crushed stone on mine. Within six months my driveway had sunken spots from parked vehicles. And a patch of asphalt had detached from the rest. Numerous calls went unanswered. Finally talked to Mr. Herrin at month 9 of 1 year warranty. His wife was in the hospital, and he was just barely hanging on with COVID. I paid $5,700.00 for crappy work. He doesn’t stand by his word or warranty!I have pictures!

    Paving

Job done late last year. 1 month later I had small ants come up through in several areas. This spring I have grass growing up through it. Numerous areas are extremely rough and some areas are less than one inch. Suppose to return and fix an area but didn't.

    Pave a driveway.
    $10,776

First, when Roman and Andy came to the house they provided us a card which read Evolution Asphalt. I checked them out and they had a B+ rating with the BBB. We didn’t realize until I was handed the invoice to pay that it was under a different name. If I would have read these reviews first, we probably would never have went with them. Andy is a fast talker; did a lot of tooting his own horn. Everything we discussed like how far and what they were to pave. Unfortunately, even though I helped him measure my driveway with my 100 ft. Measuring tape. We measured off 300 sq. Yards. Which Andy figured out the cost. But they paved not quite 200 square yards. Width of their paving went from 12’ down to 8ft. It was supposed to be 13’ wide. So I actually paid $14 more a square yard than quoted. Andy didn’t show up until the job was over. Apparently, no one gave instructions to his crew or this is how they operate.; give a price, walk everything off, everyone agrees on what’s to be done, but don’t follow through. They were finished when I got home from work and had equipment blocking the road, had to park down my road. Then Andy and I had to get past the equipment. He had my bill in his hand and went right to my deck for payment. I was definitely rushed to pay without really getting to look things over. Guess that’s on me. Just don’t like to be ripped off. I gave them a 3 only because what they did pave is really thick and I’m hoping it lasts. I checked out a few other places in the area and they actually did a good job and the people were satisfied. Boils down to trust. Unless you’re watching their every move, you too may be taken advantage of.

    CON JOB! Avoid them.
May 15 the young 1 stopped at my place. He said that they could do my driveway for 1/3 the price of cement. He told me that they can could level my bank shale driveway roll and pack it then lay a full 3 inches of blacktop for $3.50 a square foot. He also said that they also would coat it after everything was completed.
I ask him, HOW MUCH TO DO THE FULL DRIVEWAY up to 10 foot from the curb. This would be 30 feet wide and 43 feet long.
He quoted me verbally $3,500 complete. OK!
They started the work Monday. They did not have enough to finish the job so they returned Tuesday.
When I looked at what they had done to that point I noted that along the edge there were areas AS THIN AS 1 INCH!
Tuesday I questioned him and he said that they had run out but that they would overlay that area to make sure that it was a full 3 inches thick
As they finished up the Father showed up and was talking a mile a minute.
I was prepared to write a check for the $3,500.00 that they had quoted me.
Everyone else had gone by this point and I was alone with him in my garage.
He tells me that I needed $8,250.00 to cover their work? WHAT?
He told me that they DO NOT WORK FOR FREE!
He insisted that they had laid 30 feet wide and over 50 feet long and that the charge was for $3.50 per square foot for the driveway and $2.00 a square for for sealer?
Up front I was told $3,500.00 complete and that they seal it when they are don rolling everything. I was setting in my chair and he was standing over me demanding that I write a check for $8,250.00. He called his son back and they kept insisting that I write a check. I was in fear for my life as they were standing over me and I did not know if they would cause me any harm.
After some time I finally wrote a check for $6,800.00 to get them out of my place with hurting me.
Now after they have been gone I measured the driveway. It is not the over 50 x 30 as they claimed and it was not the 43 x 30 that I had asked for. Actual is 46 x 30 before feathering another 6 inches to nothing.
I also checked along the sides to see if they made in not less than 3 inches. I could not find any place that was 3 inches minimum. Some spots are less than 2 inches.
AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! CON JOB! TELL THEM TO GO AWAY!

    Pave driveway

Exact same experience! Knocked on my door and said they were in the area working and had extra asphalt. Quoted me 3,500, but when it was done.... they wanted over 5,000. I paid the 3,500. They have a nice routine worked out. Good cop, bad cop.

    Seal asphalt
    $1,000

I had nearly the exact same experience as the other person that wrote a review. They were doing some patch work for my neighbor and offered me a discount for doing my section of asphalt driveway. The worker estimated approx $750-$1000.

The total came up to over $1700 when they were done. That's pretty extreme to be that much over an estimate. Don't let the sales pitch get you like I did.

    Asphalt parking pad and driveway
    $$5200
    2 days
    Parking Pad/Driveway Job @ 22 Buckel St, Burgettstown PA 8-24 &

On 8/24/15, Herrin's Paving showed up at our house in the evening because they said they were working locally and had leftover asphalt and would give us a good deal ($300) on a parking pad. My husband asked them several times what's all this going to cost because they continued to pave the pad bigger including partially up the driveway. When the pad was done, the cost was $2500 and they quoted an additonal $2700 to finish paving the driveway to the road. At that point, we were left with no choice but to finish it since they had destroyed part of the gravel bed of the driveway. On 8/25, they came back and finished the driveway. The work was not completed as discussed and there were quality issues. The seam between the work done on 8/24 & 8/25 wasn't done properly. The one side of the driveway is crooked. The driveway wasn't flared out at the top as discussed. By 9/8, the end of the driveway was cracked. Weeds are growing up through the asphalt in several places. The gravel bed of the driveway is showing in several areas which indicates it wasn't prepared correctly or the asphalt is not thick enough. We never received a receipt or contract that was supposed to be provided on 8-25-15. Payment was made in full per their request as they still worked on the job. We were told by both of Herrin's Pavings representatives Andy Herrin & Opie) that since my husband wasn't home to inspect the work any problems would be resolved within a week. Six phone calls were made to Herrin's to try to get the issues resolved. On 9-18, Andy Herrin told me he couldn't come because both trailers were out of commission (1 axle was bent and the other one caught on fire) but that he'd come out the week of 9/21. We haven't heard from him since then. The issues have only gotten worse as time has progressed. I cannot have this driveway sealed until the problems are resolved. We have found out since our job was done that other local customers that had work done by Herrin's Paving also have issues.
