    Wire a bedroom, bathroom and laundry room
    $1,500

    Our experience was very good with HICO. He gave us a price for wiring an addition to our house and he stuck to that price. We paid him half to begin the work and the other when it was done. We did have to call him back to check an outlet and he came, corrected the issue and everything passed inspection. In fact, he had to correct the previous election's work because it did not pass. We were very please with his work and professionalism.

    My husband and I hired a contractor to renovate a house for us to live as our primary home in the Fall of 2016. It is in Durham NC. David Higgs of HICO Electrical Contracting was recommended by our contractor. The house was built in 1987 and has 1550 sq. ft. We hired Mr. Higgs to wire and installed outlets, installed new fixtures and switches, and installed an exterior receptacle. The cost is $5500. We did not check around to get a second bid which now we regretted.
    He finished the work before our contractor finished the renovation. He told us that he tested all outlets and they all worked and he left. Well, towards the end of the renovation, we found out that some outlets did not work and he came back around 12-19-2016 to fix those outlets except one outlet in the kitchen. Mr. Higgs claimed that that outlet did work before and that the contractor must have messed it up. Our contractor did a thorough check and did not find anything that he did that would have caused the problem. Our contractor talked to Mr. Higgs about the issue. Mr. Higgs then told us that that outlet must have NOT worked before and that he is not responsible for items that did not work before. He would have to charge us another $250 to fix it.
    We couldn't believe that he was not following thru with his work even though he told us there is a 6-month warranty of his workmanship.
    Now we have to find another electrician to fix the outlet.
    Why did he claim that he had tested ALL outlets upon completion of this job? Why did he argue with his clients on problems of his own work? Why did he try to blame others for his own imperfect work? We recommended to our contractor not to use and/or recommend Mr. Higgs in the future. We will not recommend Mr. Higgs and his company.
