    I hired High Tech Renovations for a new wood flooring project, after obtaining the name from a home improvement site. It was my impression that businesses on the site had been well vetted and approved after a screening process. After the project was finished, we discovered multiple areas on the walls, and some on the new wood flooring, that had been damaged. There was "significant movement" and noise, in multiple areas of the new wood flooring which we were told would hardly be noticeable in a few weeks. It only got worse. During demo, we were told that a "floating floor" had to be installed due to insulation used with the previous flooring. We were never given any other options. After multiple texts and voicemail messages over several weeks, the project foreman was sent over to investigate the damage, and said "we'll take credit for one area, but we think you just didn't notice the rest that were already there". Completely false. Any reputable contractor would have seen the damage prior to the start of the job, and had us sign off on it. This was not done as the damage was incurred during installation. The total cost of the project was $18,490.00. The home improvement site contacted HTR on multiple occasions with no response. We are now interviewing contractors to repair the damage, which will cost us more money that we shouldn't have to spend. We are retired and are living on a fixed income.
