    Demolition project

Phil started when he said he'd start, charged what he said he'd charge, and finished when he said he'd finish. Quite an unusual and delightful surprise. He did a nice job.

My project was renovating an entire 1970's house. Phil Vanderloo was an exceptional contractor who above all had my complete trust. He kept the project moving forward while maintaining attention to detail. His advice throughout the project was invaluable.

    complete renovation 1970 home

Hiring a contractor is stressful and even online reviews can be misleading. After removing myself from a less than honorable contractor I found Hiline Builders through Buildzoom. One of the best decisions of my life was to follow my instinct and put my renovation in his hands. Emails are always answered and each day we moved forward and the project was kept on track despite subcontractors very busy schedules.
His advice was sound and I regretted the very few times I did not follow it. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire this contractor for any project big or small. This is one time the exceptional reviews of others was true, definitely a 5 star contractor.

We had our home remodeled in 2008 and then another area in 2011. It was great experience. The remodel was finished when promised, on time! I interview various contractors over about 10 year period before we found Hiline Builders. It was worth the wait! My father was a retired painting contractor in the SF bay area. He saw the work being done and then when he saw the finished remodel job, he said that we got a really good job. My dad had worked with some of the best contractors in the SF bar area and therefore had a lot of experience with seeing work done by both good and bad contractors. Our home is now beautiful and comfortable! We had our master bedroom turned into a master bedroom suite. We added crown molding, hardwood floors, tiled the bathrooms, can lights, 8 new ceiling fans and much, much more. We took out our old water heater and added a tankless water heater. I would use Phil again, should the need arise, without a second thought! He is honest, fair, and worked with us not against us. If someone needs their old, outdated house turned into a beautiful new home without having to move, you need to get Hiline builders to do the work.

Hiline Builders completely remodeled our old dark 1970's ranch style kitchen and living area into a beautiful, light spacious open plan kitchen with family room. The main entry was updated with glass doors and light now fills the house. Walls were knocked down , plumbing, electrical and sewer rerouted and now the house is an absolutely stunning. Phil Vanderloo drafted plans for us based on our shared input and shared them via the internet as well as in person. His experience as the contractor was invaluable from the very beginning of the project. He managed the remodel in all aspects and was extremely professional and courteous to all the trades people as well as to us. Phil came up with the wonderful idea of adding a dormer roof with three windows over the kitchen sink to provide even more light and ceiling height than we could have imagined. The large island underneath is the center piece of the kitchen. The crew was the absolute best and have obviously all worked together for many years. They were reliable, conscientious and trustworthy. They even worked around us living there during the construction, carefully cleaning up every day. We also had my office added onto the house at the same time and I am very happy that Phil was able to add a large skylight in addition to the windows making this a very pleasant space to work. We will be forever grateful to Hiline Builders for transforming our home into everything we could have hoped for and would recommend him wholeheartedly.
