Hobus Homes recently completed a significant home renovation and addition project for me in downtown Orlando. The project required scheduling and construction staging to allow me to remain in residence during the construction period. The services provided by Hobus Homes were entirely satisfactory.
I am the Director of Engineering and Construction for an organization in Central Florida and have substantial experience with contractors. The criteria for a successful and fun construction project rely heavily on the skills and project commitment of the contractor. Contractors that don't "buy-in" to their projects and the clients goals lead to confrontation, change orders, delays, poor quality and an unsatisfied owner: unfortunately there are a lot of contractors that don't "buy-in" to their projects. Hobus Homes is not one of them. Hobus Homes was flexible, always accessible and immediately addressed issues such as an occasion when I had no power in the area I was occupying, Hobus Homes also did several project upgrades gratis and required reworking areas where the work quality did not meet his expectations. Hobus Homes consistently represented my position when addressing issues with his subcontractors.
The president of Hobus Homes (Chuck Hobus) followed up promptly on any issues I had well after final payment issuance and project close out.
Chuck, a licensed contractor, made several recommendations that improved the project design.
Chuck gets my unconditional recommendation as a contractor of preference. My only regret is not also using his architectural services for design.
