    Hoevker Building and Design has recently worked on a few projects at my home. A fireplace and 2 windows were removed, and 2 new windows installed.
    They also have done some outdoor projects for me this summer. they rebuilt a deck, build a new shade structure for the back yard, and replaced the foundation on an old shed.
    I was very pleased with their work and would hire them for future projects without any hesitation.

    Complex addition to two rooms.

    Philip Hoevker of Hoevker Building and Design recently completed a 550 sf addition to two rooms of our Alta Heights home, converting the living room into a Great Room by doubling its footprint. Also doubled was the footprint of our Guest Room/Office. The roof was raised in both rooms, with a vaulted ceiling in the Great Room.
    We also added a 60 sf deck to the Guest Room.
    Our extensive building project was completed on budget and on time.
    Prior to commencement we were presented with a detailed contract, including a payment schedule. Professional detailed invoices were submitted as outlined.
    The scope of the work included, aside from the additional square footage, raising the 7’6” roof/ceiling to a slanted approx. 11’ ceiling height in the Great Room, and raising the 7’6” roof/ceiling of the Guest Room to approx. 9’. The home was originally built in 1950, so the contractor encountered many unexpected “surprises” during the process, all of which he amicably and expertly dealt with.
    Mr. Hoevker conferred daily with our off-site architectural designer, updating her on progress and discussing unexpected but necessary changes. Conferences included the off-site structural engineer.
    Mr. Hoevker brought to the job an expert team of his own staff, and worked expertly with the following professionals: concrete and foundation, roofers, framers, drywall installers, painters, electricians, hardwood floor installers, and a plethora of suppliers of countless large and small items which comprise a successful remodel.
    We have gotten to know and have enjoyed working with Mr. Hoevker during our six-months cooperation, especially since we decided to occupy the uninvolved area of the home during the work progress – with our two pets.

    After interviewing several contractors we decided to go with Philip Hoevker. He was honest and had good ideas. He took down a wall in our family room and refigured a tv wall to center the tv with a linear fireplace below He was tireless in finding the correct fireplace that would allow a tv just above it. He added windows too. We were not finished when the coronavirus hit and he was still able to get subs out to do the work and finish the project. He is honest, fair, creative and dedicated to helping you get the results you want. He goes over and above what he needs to do to make sure you are happy with everything.l

    Design and build a front porch

    We met with several very good contractors but Phillip Hoevker stood out right away. He is knowledgeable about the local building codes and meticulous in the work he does. Everything was completed well before the estimated completion date. The very best thing about Phillip is that he is a problem solver. Wherever there was a roadblock, he found a new road. His ideas made our project even better than we imagined. At some point I will have my back deck redone and he will be the guy to do it. I wish I could double the number of stars!

    Hoevker Building and Design did a finished alcove in my living room wall for shelving where another wall was built next to the exiting wall in order to make contiguous spaces for the shelving without impacting living room square footage. I was unsure of the best way to do this, but with their guidance, it turned out GREAT. We got stuck with a very challenging inspector and Hoevker just kept at it and worked through the difficulties. The quality of work is very high and even the final inspector said "Wow, this is a great idea and nice work!"

    They replaced old door trim, base and a pocket door, patching and painting afterward. The team took the time to sand & smooth the wood, correcting some problems that had existed for decades. Very pleased with the quality of work, the time it took and the cost. It was the quality that was important to me and Hoevker met the challenge.

    Great contractor! I have used them now on four seperate occasions starting with adding a second floor to my house. Their superb attention to detail really impressed me. The project went smooth and was completed on time. But what really impressed me was that when I had a emergency unrelated to their work the owner of the company was at my house at 12:00 at night and stayed until the problem was fixed. Great company and I will call them back for all of my future construction needs
