  We had a boat dock built and have had trouble with the lighting from the very beginning. Hohbein Electric came out to replace somethings when the dock was under warranty, but the same problem has happened two more times. Our dock is less than 3 years old but we keep having electrical light issues. I think the electrician is putting in cheap stuff. He told my husband to prevent our lights from being knocked out by thunder storms, that we should just turn off the light breaker switch each time we leave the dock. If we do that, we are not able to turn on the boat dock lights from our house to give us light to get on to the dock. Another friend on the lake also had the same trouble with her boat dock lights and Hohbein was the electrician. It was never a reliable light system, it has been replaced 3 times, and this last time, we were charged $800. I understand it was not under warranty, but it has never worked and his solution was to just keep replacing the lights with the same cheap light system.

  This contractor added some outlets to our boat dock . One hour after he left the dock burned completely down. Although he did have insurance he would take no responsibility and we had to rebuild at our own expense.

  We called an electrician from this company because our freezer & fridge circuit breaker had tripped during the night. They came out quite promptly, 3 of them! One electrician replaced the faulty circuit breakers while the other two watched but told us the problem was that both the freezer and fridge were on the same circuit and the freezer needed to be on a separate one, although he didn't perform THAT job, and the circuit breakers that he installed were "used" ones, not new. They handed me a bill for $150.00 for 35 minutes of "work".(that's almost $300 an hour) A few days later, another breaker started tripping. We called the same electrician that put in the other circuit breakers but the "owner" of the company came out this time and wanted to charge us another service call. I refused to pay another one and told him about the "old" breakers his employee used. He did admit to that and promised to get "new" breakers and come back and replace them without charge, but WOULD charge us another service call if I wanted the other faulty circuit breaker replaced. I said, "no, I can replace that one myself if you're going to charge me again." He has not called nor come back to do what he promised.
