    Marisa R,
You must be talking about Holloway tile and Stone works out of San Marcos. Jeff Holloway would be the owner. Holloway Tile is out of Grass Valley California.
Silas Holloway is the owner of Holloway Tile. He does not sub contract work out to others. He takes pride in his work and is always hand on in every project contracted threw him.
. Make sure you do your research when hiring people and giving reviews. This wasn’t the company that did your project.

    Tile work

Please take a moment to consider the pictures attached. I would not recommend using Holloway Tile, and suggest working with another company. We hired this company to install tile in four bathrooms. Which consisted of tiled flooring, two tiled bathtub surrounds with waterproofing, and a shower (hot mopped) surround and floor. We were quoted $17,350. Because of issues with grout discoloration, and poor clumpy install, two discolored tiles being installed that were not the same color as the rest of the tiles (we had two full boxes to choose from), broken glass tiles installed, and unhappiness with the finished workmanship, we were credited $1,000 to have someone else fix the poor workmanship, and finish the dam wall. So we ended up paying just over $16k. The owner (Jeff Holloway) of the company subcontracted the work out to another individual Aaron Baldwin (Baldwin Brothers Construction)(SIMPLE KITCHEN & BATH).

As we were getting ready to use the shower for the first time, we saw that it was not draining, and the shower floor and dam wall quickly filled up with water. Either the tile installer or his assistant had tapped over the drain. Upon removing the tape you would assume the water would drain. However, as you can see in the pictures attached, grout was put down the new shower drain…. Grout that had sat in the p-trap and hardened causing a major problem. After we shop vacuumed out the water, we took pictures and immediately sent them to both the owner Jeff Holloway and Baldwin. No response whatsoever from Jeff Holloway. Baldwin said to talk to Jeff about it. We spent a considerable amount of money on tryin to clear the blocked cemented drain. And asked for a refund of the service call with the plumber $140.00 which was not the full amount of repair to the p-trap, ceiling (second level bathroom), drains, etc. Minimal amount, when the repair cost for maliciously putting grout and cement down a drain which incurred major issues in the plumbing, and a flood hazard.

Overall, I would say the workmanship was horrendous. The installer and assistant were very dirty on site, and damaged a lot of tile and stone product. Loads of scratches in the marble that were not there prior to installation, uneven flooring installation, missed and un-grouted areas, plastic tub protectors being grouted (instead of removed prion to grouting), poor cuts, etc. damaged and scratched new hardwood flooring because of a rock in a shoe. Nothing was done to remedy or rectify. Any complaint was brushed off, and blamed on either the hardwood flooring company needing to protect the floors, or the tile manufacturer is to blame. Zero integrity, zero ethics.

Had a hard time finding a tile installer to do a second bathroom. My original installer moved out of state. Holloway was recommended and their work was fantastic. Would absolutely recommend Silas.

They did great work. The granite we picked out for my kitchen turned out great. It all came together and just flows. Beautiful!
