    Fix & Replace Roof
    $8,500

    Beware of these guys ... they quoted me one price and arranged financing ... everything seemed to be great. But then three(3) things went poorly.
    1) The guys came and stripped off the old shingles the next day. Toward the end of day one, they had the old shingles were removed and then they came to the door and wanted me to give them more money (another $500). The claimed they didn't know there was a skylight that needed to be replaced and had already torn the old one off. The guy that quoted me was up there and had looked at the whole roof ... he even had me on the roof with him and he asked if I wanted to keep the skylight. I told him "yes, we definitely want to keep the skylight". I don't know why he wouldn't have included that in the quote/price.

    2) When they put the shingles on, they punctured the gas line. Even though you could clearly smell gas, they didn't leave a note or say anything at all ... they just packed up and left. When I called the next day to let them know they said I should probably call and have my gas turned off and that it wasn't their responsibility to watch out for gas lines. It's not their responsibility because according to them, "the building code states that all lines be more than 4" away from the roof decking."

    3) After I handled the gas line issue, I was able to take a look at my roof a little closer. I noticed that two(2) areas around the house it looked like there was a bump under the shingles, so I called to let them know that I'd like someone to take a look at it. They told me they would send someone out ... but nobody ever showed up. I also noticed that another two(2) areas where the salesman told me that I would need the decking replaced was still very soft and felt just like it did before they "replaced" it. I called for almost three(3) months and got passed around from voicemail to voicemail ... they simply stopped taking my calls. My complaints/concerns NEVER got addressed. I took time off of work waiting for various people to show up, but they never showed up. They may have given me a 40-year guarantee on their product, but I'd say that was useless since they never return calls.

    I now realize that if you let them finance you ... they've already received their money and they don't need to make you happy. They just have to do the minimum to call their job complete. If you're adamant about hiring this company, go for it ... but be prepared to be ignored if you have any issues.
