Permits
- Building permit records show that Home Run Electric LLC has worked on 1706 permitted projects.
Bid to do our entire project- new construction- signed a contract and started then disappeared and held up,our project for 3 months while doing other projects. Did show up and finish 95 percent of rough in but argued frequently over our desire for designated wiring for bathrooms etc even though it was clear in the bid that was the expectation. We also noticed the apprentice was frequently working without supervision and the liscenced provider was not on site.
We then unfortunately had a major delay in the project as the contractor claimed bankruptcy and had to be fired.
When we got a new contractor and tried to get Home Run to honor their contract they ignored our call, texts and emails. The office staff assured us that we would hear from the owner and we never did.
Finally we had to hire a new electrician in order to move forward and he looked at all of Home Runs work and told us much of it was inferior and unsafe. Of course it had passed inspection but as we have figured out an inspection by the City of Seattle means absolutely nothing!
We spent $7000 repairing the poor rough in job Home Run had done. Luckily the walls were still open so much of the wiring was visible.
My beef is that it is customary for an electrical company to take a large percentage of the contracted amount for rough in and then do the trim out for the rest. Much of the trim out costs were to be covered by Home Run. I.e. All the can lighting trim, all,the light switches, (Decora) excluding the dimmers.
Now we are paying a high hourly wage to do,the trim and are covering the cost of the trim as well.
Is that a company you want working for you. Not even the decency to,call you and tell you they are not going to finish your job? Or to offer to cover the cost of the trim to offset your budget?
Do yourself a favor, find someone else.
