By Tiffany W.February 28, 2020HVAC Furnace install and Water Heater Install
HIGHLY RECOMMEND, AND DOES NOT OVER CHARGE.. I am a Real Estate Agent and I had a home under contract for some buyers, where the sellers had hired an HVAC contractor to install a furnace and water heater prior to closing to satisfy conditions in our contract, well the day before the OTHER contractor was scheduled to do the install he decided that he needed to increase his price dramatically from what he originally quoted, so rather than take that kind of price gouging I decided I would get on the phone and call as many HVAC contractors as I could and tell them our situation and see if they could help, well long story short Daryl with Hometown was like the 4th contractor I called as well as the only one who said he would help us on such short notice and much to my surprise didn't even try and over charge given the situation we were in, in fact he even gave us a discount. I absolutely highly recommend his company, they are quick to help and do not over charge, like it seems most HVAC companies will do these days. Now that I have found them, I will be using them for all my personal as well as professional HVAC needs.

By Annette D.April 22, 2019Check furnace & A/C$25
I met Darly at the Sandy Expo Home Show in October of 2018. He signed me up for a heating & air check-up & gave me a card noting he would do the check-up for $25. In Jan of 2019, he had still not contacted me to do the promised service. So I called. He promised to come out the next week. He neither came, nor called. The same thing happened in Feb, then twice in March and now, again, today. I do not find this company to be dependable, care about customers or gave integrity.

By Disgruntled C.November 20, 2018Furnace replacement
I've had issues since my installation in March of 2018, and I can't get anyone to call me back. Now there's water dripping onto the wires near the controller board, and pooling at the bottom of the furnace!

By Becky T.October 5, 2018Tankless water heater$2,000
We have had Daryl Smith replace our water heater with a tankless waterheater when the original heater was going out. Daryl was professional, gave us a great price and stands by his work. We have since referred him to several friends and family members. He is currently putting a furnace and ductwork in our cabin which has been fireplace heated for 20 years. We look forward to having zone heating and an app controlled thermostat that will let us use the cabin in the winter much more easily.

By a user in Salt Lake CityJanuary 19, 2018Install a new furnace & central air.$5,000
Daryl Smith with Hometown Heating & Air sent 2 repairman to fix our furnace. One of the repairman named Brent (last name unknown) stole $85 worth of Outback gift cards off our counter. Daryl never did anything about it & never called us to take care of it! One of the installers for our new furnace cut our outdoor sprinkler wires, and never said a thing. Daryl refused to have him fix it for us. We had to pay our neighbor to do it. Our new furnace has had problems since he installed it. Do not use him for anything! We had more problems than what I have listed!!!

Feeling scammed by this company.
Daryl and crew installed a new AC and furnace unit into my home about a year ago. Initially, the process went well and the crewmen were thorough. We were happy with the bid we received and the quality of the system.
At the end of the job, Daryl said he’d send over a warranty and rebate info.
I contacted him 7 separate times to send me this info, but he refused. Initially he apologized for forgetting, then after the first few times he became dismissive and kept dodging my questions. Eventually it seemed he blocked my number.
The system we chose was based on the supposed rebates and credits that would make it a cheaper deal in the long run. All in all, we got scammed into buying the more expensive option with no warranty or anything.
They also did not install any air filter or fittings which we will have to find someone else to do.
Avoid Daryl’s company and shady practices.
