Here is our experience....give or take a few...

We purchased a lot that had Homes by Hannah as the builder and didn't really think anything negative at the time.

Let's cut to the chase.....we, at the time, lived 45 minutes away. We were not able to be at the site every day.....would have been nice. Build seemed to be going ok....did a few walk-throughs with TL and he assured me that we were on schedule and that the quality was there....meaning, he had inspected everything and it passed.

Well, one day, I arrived to the site.....all frame-work was installed...flooring was installed and as I walked around the house, especially the living room, there were floor-boards that were weak and creaked. I asked TL if that was normal and he said with the recent weather that the boards would bounce back to shape. HA!! That should have been my first warning......not only after the carpet was installed but prior to that I took a look from the underside of the main level from the basement view and noticed that there were hundreds of screws that were not even going into the crossbeams!! No wonder!! Nor did I see any evidence of them being glued down initially!!....That, in my opinion, is shoddy work. So, we live with a living room that creaks, cracks, and literally gives when you walk on it.....going to cost thousands to resolve that one.

Issue number 2: Our fireplace. There is LITERALLY ice and snow on the interior of the fireplace when it is really cold outside. I had the builder (TL) come to my house to take a look and he specifically said that wasn't right. However, did they fix the issue? NO! We still live with a 10mph breeze coming in from the bottom right and left portion of the fireplace when it is cold outside. You can literally be 15 feet away and feel it......of course we can turn on the gas fireplace to minimize this but something is wrong, wrong, wrong. We have spent a few hundred dollars having other companies out here in order to assess the 'dog-house' gas-chimney but all of them say that they would need to remove the entire outside 'box' to see why there is so much cold air coming in......oh, and I kid you not, it's coming in.

So, is the house standing? Yes. Am I mostly pleased? yes. Has the builder REALLY done their due diligence in making sure that, even after TL, the builder, who personally looked at the issue with the fireplace, fixed it? Heck no. I remember that there were a few different houses being built by the same builder at the time. As I am on the HOA Board and have had an opportunity to speak with fellow neighbors, they do not, IN ANY WAY, have the same issues. I can only conclude that the workers were too busy trying to get every thing done and messed up our house. To which Homes by Hannah didn't stand by their product.
