We wanted to hire them for full roof replacement, structural work, and home remodeling

I first posted this review on google and then I noticed that the review mysteriously disappeared along with the option to even review the builder on google so I am now going to post it on several sites bc people should be aware. And businesses shouldn't try to hide negative reviews. Start of original review:

For me, this is an unfortunate review. I was referred to Davis Hooper as a possibility to have incremental renovations done on my mother's home. One look at his site or social media will have one know that this review is not in reference to the beauty or craft of his work. I would not have reached out to him if I had thought otherwise. Let me also begin by saying that all contractors have a right to pass on any job they desire. This is also not something I would review poorly for any reason. With that said, this was my experience.

I first contacted Mr. Hooper on 8 March to let him know we were looking to do some structural work and renovations. I didn't hear back for several days so I contacted him through his website and eventually heard back from him on 16 March. I completely understand that things can get busy, they do for me as well, and was just happy to hear back from him and to know that he was happy to look at the home. We agreed to schedule a walk through and I communicated that I wanted to gather some photos and videos of the home showing some notable issues so that he would have a chance to view some things ahead of time. I gathered everything and sent all of this on 30 March and explained our vision for the renovation process in more detail. I honestly don't know if he ever even looked at the files because he never mentioned it.

I did not hear back over the next few days so I reached back out on 4 April to try to make contact. I was so excited to see a response the same day as he said he had driven by the home and commented that it was "not very large" and asked how much were we looking to spend on the renovation. I admit to being surprised by the comment on the home's size as I wasn't sure why that mattered, but of course budget matters. I explained that we first were prepared to spend a significant amount in cash for the first phase but were open to expanding that initial budget or doing whatever needed (i.e. loans) to continue the renovations after receiving his guidance (which I asked for in my response to his email on that same day).

That was basically the last day I heard from him for over a month.

I tried to be patient and reached out again on 19 April wishing his family a prayerful and peaceful past Easter and requesting feedback from 4 April. No response.

Several days later I tried again through the site. Nothing. Days later I tried to call but it went to voicemail and was full.

On 1 May I sent another email and by that time I was still trying to request the walk through and then basically said 'if your interest or availability to work on the project has changed then please let me know'. No response.

On one last try I gave him another call yesterday (18 May). He picked up and I explained who I was and simply asked if something had changed in his interest. Only at this time did he say that he would have to pass on the project because they were really busy and also he also mentioned the size again, to which I responded that I understand but that it would have been nice to have known. He never apologized for the poor communication but did try to tell me that the long delay was bc he was trying to see if there was a contractor he could recommend. However, after over a month, my faith is admittedly low as to whether I believe I would have heard from him on that.

Therefore, what I do want to remind Hooper Homes of is that no matter how large a person's home or assumed budget is...or whether a project is for you or not, everyone deserves the respect and courtesy of not being brushed off and of being responded to. It only takes a minute to let someone know that you will not be able to work with them. It can still be a positive interaction and everyone can continue on with less time wasted. Time is precious and in this past month I could have been working on securing positive energy for the home elsewhere. I pray that your business never gets so large that it forgets these important human interactions as it pertains to all potential clients and not only select ones.
