Horizon Construction and Remodeling

Thank you for your prompt response. I really would prefer a contractor that is solely in the Inland Empire.

Horizon Construction & Remodeling in 2018 lied about getting City inspections done, damaged my home and covered up the damage, and left dangerous conditions throughout my home, leaving myself and my family at risk. For example, just some of the things Inspectors found: sharp roof shingles unattached on my roof which could have fallen and cut us; they left exposed electrical wiring in the attic = potential fire danger; extremely hot pipes not insulated, which could have burnt us, and more. The City is making me remove construction Horizon did because they lied about getting approval. DO NOT HIRE THEM. They are a dangerous company. They also gave a portion of the remodel to another general contractor (not as a subcontractor) without my approval. Horizon Construction (Mark Besnos) did not supervise this other contractor, who’s license has been suspended and is being prosecuted by the California Attorney General’s Office. All of this can be confirmed. This was a big project and Horizon Construction & Remodeling took my money and have left my entire family devastated by the amount of damage they did to our home.

We chose Horizon to refresh the exterior of our home based upon the good ratings in Angie’s List and Houzz. They were very prompt in setting a time to meet with us. Leo listened very well to what we wanted to have done and then he walked us through how they would go about getting the job done. He detailed for us the many steps they would go through to prepare for the work that would need to be done for removing old facade, adding new stucco, painting, adding stone veneer and replacing patio fence. He explained some of the extra steps they do that others skip, which are important for a long-lasting result. Leo laid out for us the expected start time and timeline for completion. Based upon some other estimates that I had received, Horizon’s cost estimate was very reasonable. Their back-office staff was also very helpful to us in selecting the materials to be used on the job and working with us on scheduling. Once the job got started, it progressed according to plan, and all city inspections were completed timely without need for any change to the work they had done. The job was completed to our satisfaction, on time and on budget; they even did a few extra add-ons without charging us anything extra. Job well done, thank-you!

Project: Re-pipe whole house and install tankless water heater; replace ducts and install new AC/Furnace unit; remodel two bathrooms.

After speaking to three general construction companies, we decided to hire Horizon Construction for our projects. Their prices were reasonable as compared to the other companies, and we appreciated the detailed written scope of the project that they provided to us. Mark, Enna, and their office staff were very pleasant to work with; they also have a very nice showroom.

Overall, we are happy with how our projects turned out. Enna is great with communications. She always replied to our messages promptly to address our issues and concerns. We did have various issues with the workmanship and cleanliness of some of the trades that came to do the work, which made us felt that the project manager was not always attentive to what was being done at our house. We had to clean up a lot of the messes that were left every night when came home. Horizon could definitely benefit as a company, if they improve their ability to oversee a project more closely to ensure that things are being done properly by their sub-contractors. But, in general, Mark and Enna do care about the satisfaction of their customers. They are committed to making things right. They always made sure that we were happy with the end result. We never felt like Enna or Mark would just ignore us or our concerns. For this reason alone, we would recommend their company to others.

I had several projects done: foundation support, stucco, fascia boards, interior and exterior paint and electrical work.
All were done professionally and perfectly.
When unexpected issues arose, they were handled quickly & past expectation !

Enna, Mark and team did a great job with our full kitchen remodel. We knocked down two walls, did a large support beam and gutted the complete kitchen. Mark suggested we move the sink and re-profile the window, which turned out to be an excellent suggestion. We're very happy with the kitchen and can now entertain without being stuck in a very warm and small "box" separated from our guests.

Enna spent a lot of time with us near the end of the project to make sure we were satisfied and that everything was to our liking.

The bathroom is beautiful. It was very stressful and I agonized over each decision. Mike (project manager) and Robert (contractor) helped with decisions and obtaining materials. Sol was a great worker. Mike assured me that everything was fixable when I was catastrophizing. I had to remind myself of that many times. I'm so glad it's over! I would recommend them.

We recently had our master bath remodeled by Horizon Construction. This was our first experience with a remodel contractor and we didn't really know what to expect. In our first meeting with Mark he made several suggestions that we decided to go with, such as putting in a light above the tub and adding an electrical outlet on the other side of the sink.

We really appreciated the fact that Horizon had their own showroom and could make suggestions on combinations of tile, vanities and counter materials. After going to the big box stores and looking at tile and counter top materials and still not knowing what we wanted we found Mark's input invaluable.

The workmen all were very good at their jobs. Steps were taken to protect the floors leading to the bathroom under remodel. Trash was removed in a timely manner.

There were lots of items we needed to purchase in the first couple of days so that when the walls were rebuilt accommodations could be made for the water supply, drains and electrical. Decisions had to be made along the way and we answered them the same day, so as to not cause a delay in the schedule. There were a couple of issues that came up and Horizon addressed them as we went along.

We were so happy with the result that we hesitated to use the bathroom for a couple of days after completion, we didn't want to mess it up.

Bottom line is we wouldn't hesitate to use Horizon Construction again.

It was an absolute working with Eitan Beznos and Horizon Construction. Eitan was communicative, professional, friendly, and always a calming influence during a process that can seem quite harrowing at times. The office staff was also friendly and easy to reach with any questions. I'm very happy with the job, and I'm looking forward to working with them again soon.

I had a bathroom and bedroom remodeled by Horizon. They were reasonable on the overall cost when compared to other quotes obtained. Eitan Beznos did an excellent job overseeing this project. He expressed a sense of care and always wanted to make sure I was pleased with the work before moving on. Overall, the workmanship was excellent and I was always guided to make the best decision possible on material and installation. Their workers were courteous and knowledgeable. Horizon left both rooms looking immaculate and ready for me to move back in. The end result of this project surpassed my expectations with the project completing on time. I highly recommend Horizon for any home project.

Our kitchen and downstairs bathroom in our 30 year old home were beginning to look dated and tired, plus we knew if we tore all down, we’d be able to make better use of the space. We hired Horizon Construction after having interviewed three contractors. We immediately liked Mark Beznos because of his professionalism and seriousness about providing us with the best possible choices regarding layout and design, not to mention that his pricing was reasonable. His initial proposal was very detail oriented and assisted us in approaching all aspects of the project with a good understanding of what would take place. Mark’s crews, from tear down to installation have been on time and easy to work with. They’re efficient and clean up once they have completed their work. Our remodel included not only our kitchen and bathroom, but all of the flooring, baseboards and crown molding in our family room and living room. It’s been a huge project and we couldn’t be more pleased with the result. We have a beautiful modernized downstairs that’s worthy of a professional photo shoot!

I Found Horizon Construction & Remodeling thru HomeAdvisor.com actually for another job but had to shift on the fly when a garage repair issue became more pressing. Mark came out and reviewed the job with me onsite and followed up with a quote. While not the lowest, I got a good vibe from Mark and chose Horizon for the repair which entailed removing the entire garage floor and much of the underlying soil. The repair looks great and I have received multiple compliments on the completed work. The crews showed up on time and were diligent in their work. Mark and his team are very quick to respond to inquiries which is a big deal to me. I would use them again without hesitation.

I get the impression they mostly work with people who don't quite know what they want, and need someone to handhold them through (and charge them for) the entire process from idea through design to finished project. I just need a contractor to build the project; they're trying to sell me on too much service. If that's what someone else needs they may be a perfect match.

This renovation was a long time coming, & finding Horizon through Angie's List was a blessing. They had a great selection in their showroom of different products. We worked with contractor Mike Roppo, who immediately would answer our calls and was quick to fix any problems. The office was efficient in checking that every step of the renovation was completed on time. Our master bedroom is finally the sweet oasis we had envisioned.

So far so good. WE just hired them to do the contracting/permitting/design for a master bed and bath add on. They were a bit over our price range for the buildout. They are very on top of things and WE are the ones running a bit behind.

My wife and I are delighted with our new kitchen. Horizon did the remodeling in an expeditious and professional manner. Their workers were courteous and knowledgeable. We would highly recommend Horizon to anyone contemplating a remodeling project.

We were in need of a major master bathroom remodel and were referred to Horizon Construction by a friend who had been extremely please with their master bath remodel. The owner, Mark, came out on time and gave us many suggestions based on the space we have and an estimate of the cost. We visited their show room several times to make our selections and were ready to begin.

The workers all arrived on time and Mark supervised the project from start to finish. Mark was meticulous in making sure all work was completed to his and our satisfaction. The result is a beautiful travertine and quartz bathroom that we will enjoy for many years to come. We highly recommend Horizon Construction and Remodeling and will use the company for other remodel projects in the future.

Project was new flooring in 2 bathrooms & 3 bedrooms and new cabinets, counter, mirror and lighting in a vanity area. From start to finish the trades were professional and showed up when they were supposed to. This was my first remodeling project and it was a pleasure. I would not hesitate to use Horizon Construction in the future. It has been a year and I am still thrilled with the end result.

My wife and I had Horizon remodel two bathrooms at the same time due to a sub floor problem. The job was performed in a professional manner and actually was complete a week early. The project manager was very professional and assisted us at every step. Bottom line, I would use this contractor again when the next project arises. Months after, we required some minor followup repairs and contacted Horizon. Michael Reppo, the project manager, responded almost immediately. He came out and inspected and set up the days the crews were to come out and repair. Really appreciated the prompt and helpful "AFTER SERVICE" care given to my wife and I.

Horizon Construction performed the remodel of my small master bathroom. Given the small size, I was expecting any contractor to either price it high or give me second class service. Horizon did neither. The price while a bit higher than other bids, was justified by the assignment of a project manager who helped with the design, met me at the home improvement store to pick out the specific tiles and provided exact measurements, and who provided me with on going supervision of the workers and timely status updates.

The workers showed up on time and took great care to protect the carpet and the rest of the house. The work quality was excellent. I would highly recommend them for the quality of their work.

The project: a kitchen renovation that involved demolishing the old kitchen, building a completely new kitchen in a different location (the old dining area), opening a wall, and building an addition onto the house to add a wet bar

Overall, we had a great experience with Horizon. They delivered what they said they would, when they said they would, for the price they said it would be. The work crews were friendly and professional; we were very impressed by their efficiency and the long hours they often worked to complete the project quickly. As this was our first major renovation, we did sometimes feel some stress about communication (namely knowing when fixtures and decisions were needed from us), but things generally went smoothly. We are very pleased with the final product and would certainly work with Horizon again.

In the spring of 2015, we hired Horizon Construction and Remodeling to remodel our master bathroom. We were very happy with their work, and their work ethic and our beautiful bathroom were completed, on time, by early June. On June 17, of this year, the new toilet that Horizon had installed developed a broken ring on the main pipe, leaking into our powder room below. We called Horizon owner, Mark Besnos, and he had someone out to fix the leak within hours, and then reconstructed the powder room ceiling, from beams to drywall to paint, within the next few days at no extra charge. Horizon Construction and Remodeling does excellent work, and they stand behind their work. There was no question and no hassle. Just exceptional customer service, even though it was a year later! We highly recommend Mark Besnos and Horizon Construction and Remodeling!

This is my 2nd project with Horizon. I had a partial bathroom remodel in 2014 and I absolutely love it; therefore, Horizon was my first choice for this project. This time I had the ceramic floor tile removed from downstairs and replaced with porcelain tile that looks exactly like wood. My new floor is absolutely beautiful. I also had alterations to the built-in entertainment center in which a 4x4 hole-in-the-wall was closed to make room for a flat screen TV.

The workers were prompt, professional and hard-working. Mark met me at the tile store and got me a good price for the tile that I wanted. He also helped me pick out a mosaic tile for the fireplace that complaints the floor tile. I also want to mention that although my contract stated that I would be responsible for purchasing the tile, grout, baseboard and paint; Enna and Mark decided to GIFT me the grout, baseboard and paint, in addition to a 10% discount as a returning customer, which I view as a very generous gesture.

In conclusion, I am extremely happy with my new floor and that 60” flat screen is absolutely gorgeous above the fireplace.

We knew from our experience that this would be a big project, and it would require patience. We needed to remove a weight bearing wall, and reinforce the foundation in three places. This included installing two massive beams in the ceiling to support the roof! This was a kitchen REBUILD! This old house had the original 1955 yellow tile and linoleum kitchen. We told Mike, our Project Manager that our prime concern was the end result. But we wanted him to be as accurate as possible in estimating the start date, and the length of project--and to be HONEST about the predicted time frame. He said they could start in 2-4 weeks as they were so busy--(a good sign). He predicted it would take 3 months to complete, not including holidays. They began within 2 and 1/2 weeks, And they completed our BEAUTIFUL NEW KITCHEN in exactly 3 calendar months which included holidays and weekends! We are very happy with the end result, quality materials, and workmanship!

We hired Horizon Construction to demolish our 1950’s kitchen and construct a brand new one. From the beginning they were up front and professional. We were overwhelmed with all the many choices with design and color. Since Horizon Construction has a showroom, Mark and Enna were able to help us create the vision we had for our kitchen. Once the project was underway, we were updated daily by Enna as to when the workers would be here. We were grateful for their reliability since we were living in our home during the construction. That made this large project much less stressful. The workers were trustworthy, courteous and respectful of our property. Throughout the entire project there were only a few issues, as there would be with any project of this magnitude; Mark and his project manager Tal addressed them immediately. Horizon Construction was a little more expensive than our other bids but you do get what you pay for. Our kitchen turned out fantastic! We love it!!

We came to Horizon with a home that was in poor shape and needed not only remodeling, but also major infrastructure repair and updates, such as piping, wiring, A/C and heating, etc. Horizon was proactive in advising us on design, selection and quality of materials, forthcoming with responses to our questions and concerns. I am not what you'd call an "easy" customer, but Horizon was very responsive in resolving the issues that inevitably come up with any project of this scope. They have also shown that they are willing to follow up on post-project touch-ups, etc; they are determined that we be fully satisfied with the project.

We are extremely happy in our "new" home (it IS like new to us,) and gladly recommend them. The project was very expensive, due to the damage and poor maintenance accruing over many years, and Horizon was also helpful in assisting us to find financing when our other sources were VERY slow and unhelpful in responding.

My kitchen project involved completely demolishing my old kitchen and making a brand new one. This also involved removing a load-bearing post and widening the opening to my living room. When I first spoke with Horizon, I had no idea what I wanted to do with the space, other than removing the load-bearing post and opening the doorway. The first time I met with the Project Manager, he showed me pictures of other kitchens, measured my existing kitchen, and sketched out some ideas of how the space could be redone. I appreciated the time he took to help develop how the new space would look. As with any construction project, there were a couple minor delays, and that’s to be expected. As a result, the project took a bit longer to complete than anticipated. What resulted was a beautiful, functional, new kitchen and I am so happy with the outcome. While the Project Manager that I had initially worked with left the company mid-project, the work continued to be carried out as planned. I only met Mark one time toward the latter part of the project, but was told that he had been at my home regularly throughout the project. Enna was my e-mail angel; always replying in a timely manner to my questions and concerns. The foreman that worked at my house was very helpful and kept in communication with me. I love my new kitchen and look forward to many years of enjoyment with family and friends. I would use Horizon again for future home improvement projects.

This is the third time we have hired this contractor. We were very happy with their previous work (a kitchen remodel and replacing all the crown molding and baseboards throughout the house) so we had no hesitation in hiring them again. Mark came over and we talked through our wish list for the bathroom remodel. He offered useful suggestions and came back to us quickly with a detail plan and a price. Mark met with us twice at the tile store to help us make our selections. The whole project then proceeded very smoothly. Enna was quite helpful and pleasant along the way in keeping us up to date and on top of all the decisions that had to be made. Workers were there every day and they were all well-skilled, polite and neat. There were a few issues that came up, but Mark and Enna and the workers always heard our concerns and made sure that everything was always completed to our satisfaction. The bathroom turned out beautifully with clean lines and gorgeous materials, just like we dreamed of.

This was the fourth project that Horizon Construction has done for us. They did a complete remodel of our kitchen, both bathrooms, and removed popcorn ceilings and repainted two family rooms. This project involved removing a chimney that sat perpendicular from the wall in the middle of our family room. They did the complete demo in one day, sealing off the room with plastic to cut down on dust as much as they could. Very impressed! They had to patch the roof, patch the ceiling, and the wall. The very creative part was what to do with the floor area where the chimney base had been. The tile on the floor surrounding the area was discontinued so we were able to find a similar tile that their amazing tile guy laid at a diagonal and it looks fantastic! As I have always stated before, Horizon is not perfect (let me know if you do find a contractor who does perfect work the very first time!). But they will always make sure you are completely satisfied with the work before leaving, no matter what. I respect that and that is why they have come back to do work at our house four times!

We recently remodeled our master bathroom and chose Horizon Construction based on a referral. I couldn't be more happy with my decision. All workers showed up each day when scheduled. Everyone was very professional and left everything clean each day. My project manager was wonderful. All work was inspected by the owner as well. The final product was beautiful! Would definitely use for the next remodel.

Due to a water leak issue, I had to remodel my kitchen and part of the family room. After many interviews and careful consideration I selected Horizon Construction and Remodeling. It proved to be a very good decision! Mr. Ormi Nave was my Project Manager whose expertise guided me through design, style and material selections. The cabinet maker, electrician, plumber, painter/drywall, tile installer were all excellent at their craft! Upper management also reviewed on-site work excellence and progression. The Horizon team maintained a high level of professionalism and integrity throughout the entire project. I highly recommend Horizon for your next project!
