    Service: Heating maintenance
    Ramon the technician was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. He confirmed everything I'd suspected with my heater. The fan motor was not working. The first thing he did was confirm that the heating element was working. Then he check the fan motor. It final died after 30 years of service. He removed the motor and dual fan assembly. Left with the assembly to buy a new motor. He came back at 5:00 PM after removing and reassembling the motor and fan assemble. He took less than 30 minutes to replace the unit. I am very happy with the service provide by Hot Cold Air. This is my second time using them. The first time was for an AC issue. I will continue using their service when needed.

    Not a good experience. They actively encouraged me to ignore Nevada's "essential service" laws. Clearly defective AC was not worth repairing because (yeah, I know, some of these reasons are completely contradictory): (1) 80F is a normal residential temperature in Vegas, (2) some houses, because of the way they are designed, can't get normal AC even if you replace and upgrade the entire AC system (!), (3) many houses in the Vegas Valley cannot get AC to all the rooms in the house, so if the rooms you inhabit is 80+F degrees, that is totally fine, and (4) it doesn't matter if an AC vent has gone from pumping out a glacial torrent of cold air to only a tiny trickle of air, all that matters is the temperature at the AC vent (air mass/volume doesn't matter, temperatures in the unit away from the AC vent don't matter, a noticeable degredation in AC performance is irrelevant), etc etc. I could go on with other bizzare observations - all of which are on the digital audio recording - but you get the point. They are actively circumventing Nevada's "essential service" laws. The relationship of the landlord and this AC repair company may or may not have something to do with it (I don't want to implicate any employees at HVAI but I can say that several of them mentioned that the landlord also owns either a HVAI franchise or equity in the parent company). Buyer beware. Take advantage of Nevada's unitary consent laws and make digital audio recordings of anything they say; you will find it useful in more ways than one.
