    Detached ADU
    $380,000

    I worked with Housable to design and submit my permit application for my detached 2 bed / 1 bath 730 SF ADU in South San Francisco. They were great to work with, and helped navigate the challenges of building on a hillside lot. We ended up also working with a land surveyor, a geotechnical engineer, and a structural engineer to prepare the overall permit package. My architect LJ was knowledgeable and easy to communicate with, and we came up with a much better design than what I had imaged. Their costs are also reasonable and I'll recommend them for anyone interested in building an ADU.

    I would highly recommend housable if you are looking for a cost effective design firm to produce professional plans for an ADU build. I am a newer general contractor without a lot of connections to architects. And because the bay area is an expensive place to live and build homes, the architects that I do know are far too expensive for a lot of my clients. Housable has a huge range of plans so you can find one that fits your situation. Then, they will help you to tailor down all of the details for your property and vision, so that it becomes a custom design and at a fraction of the price hiring an individual architect.

    Housable provided a more affordable alternative to hiring an architect to draw up plans for our ADU conversion. We kept the existing structure the same but needed to get the structure up to code which is where Housable came in and provided their insights & expertise to ensure the plans addressed all the codes. The Housable team was responsive and provided updates to plans as needed to sign off on plans with the city and addresses other challenges with the city inspector that came up during the inspection process. As a homeowner, I worked directly with the Housable team and my contractor and all parties involved helped me navigate through the city building & planning process. Thanks Housable for making it possible for me to have a 2b/1b 960sf ADU in LA which is now income generating.

    Within two years from 2019 to 2020, Housable.com designed two ADU for me. One is attached and one is detached and both have completed the builds. It was a fantastic experience working with them.     I worked with Housable to put together plans for a 275 sq ft ADU garage conversion. They were great throughout the process, and helped me to bring my vision drawn on graph paper into reality. They were patient with the revision cycles as we created real plans. And the plans passed the planning and building department approvals with 0 revision requests! When I started opening walls of the 100 year old structure, they helped revise and give guidance on how to make adjustments based on what we found. This was even after they had formally concluded the work their part of the work. I would definitely recommend!

    Blueprint for 2br ADU

    I built an 500 sq ft ADU in Hayward with the help of Housable back in 2019. Patrick and his team were professional and really helpful throughout the permitting and blueprint process. The city had comments on the blueprint, and Patrick's team were responsive in updating the blueprint to comply with the city requirement. I recommend using housable if you're still exploring to build an ADU. Having the blueprint approved by the city prior to going to a contractor directly will provide you with options and save you a ton of money down the line!

    Housable.com was FANTASTIC!!!!! Excellent project managers and always communicated about the next steps. The design process was very simple and they walked me through everything from contacting the city to working with contractors for the project. I recommend them to everyone that is interested in building an ADU. This is the best way to go, I wish they would expand this to building SFR, MFR and Commercial. Their services are really needed.
