    I hate leaving bad reviews, but this one is necessary. If you want the short version: please be very cautious before working with Scott. We're now in an awful situation where he's demanding more money than our fixed-bid contract, forcing us to hire attorneys and go through a nightmare I wouldn’t wish on anyone. I never expected this from him—but it's clear he’s fine making people's lives hell if it means more money. Very shady.

    I met Scott in 2021 when he demoed some bathrooms for us—solid job. So, when we decided to build a custom home in Fayetteville (early 2024), I reached out. His bid wasn’t the lowest, but I trusted him. The build took 9 months instead of the estimated 6—whatever, delays happen. I’m not even going to get into the pricing issues with allowances or the complaints from his own subcontractors about poor management.

    What I will focus on is this: the house was completed Dec 31, 2024. Four months later, we received a letter from Scott demanding $96,000 extra because he “underbid” the project. I thought it was a joke. It wasn’t. Two weeks later, he had a lawyer file a materialman’s lien against our home. If you're unfamiliar with what that means—you can’t sell or refinance your home unless you pay up. I have to sell, and now I’m dealing with legal fees and a massive headache, all because Scott turned out to be someone I wish I’d never trusted.

    Please, please find someone else for your project.
