By Francisco M.May 16, 2022Porch$30,000
I would strongly suggest staying away from this company. We have been dealing with Joey since November 2021 on plans to get our porch done in Portage Park area in spring of 2022. We had to jump through hoops since Joey did not have any kind of communication on when the work was going to begin. Then he sent a subcontracted crew to demo a portion of our deck. Leaving all the garbage in our back yard. We tried getting an explanation from Joey and he was nowhere to be found. Would not answer text or calls. Then all of a sudden sends my wife a text saying that he is not going to complete the porch. No explanation or anything. Joey is the most unprofessional contractor in this industry. Horrible in every single way you can think of. If I would have read his review I would have never signed a contract with him. Now I have to start all over thanks to Joey!!

LLC is absolutely the ONLY contractor I will use for any GC work. Joey & Luis have single handed rehabbed our entire church (New Life Covenant SW - 5300 S Maplewood). Not only are they knowledgeable on all levels of GC work but their integrity and professionalism unmatched. Their ability to create and their craftsmanship has made our church beautiful to look at but also the quality work and craftsmanship will last forever. If you physically want to see their work first hand. Email me [email protected] I have an entire church to prove they they are truly excellent in what they do.

By Kristin K.October 29, 2020Water damage repairs$1,500
I contacted Humboldt Heights to replace water damaged drywall at a building I manage. I was in a pinch and needed a contractor over the weekend and the go-to contractor I use wasn't answering my calls or texts. When I contacted HHR, it was a Sunday and I got a response immediately! They were there the next day and helped put the occupant at ease, and provided the quote the very same day.
Not only did they have amazingly fast customer service, but they were able to schedule the project the same week it was approved and started the next Monday. Their price was unbeatable and their work was fantastic, they had a keen eye for detail and took their time to ensure the wall blended perfectly - and kept me posted as the work went along!
I would definitely recommend HHR to anybody and they are my new go-to guys. They are prompt, attentive, and produce quality work.

This was our first business and we didn’t have a clue about how to build, where to start and no design in mind. These guys went above and beyond, not only did they helped us with a design of our first store, but did more then we asked for. They are creative, they do a good job with good taste, installed extra things we didn’t even asked for. Thank you

After storm damage to my electrical and roof I was looking for a contractor to do repairs. They were recommended to me by my neighbor. I called them and got a quick response. They provided me excellent work to my electrical and roof repair. I am using HUMBOLT HEIGHTS REMODELERS to install my porch/deck in a couple of weeks. I will provide a review upon completion of my install.
Thank You

This is a fantastic company. My business has used them for many different levels of work. From repairing our roof to installing outlets and plumbing, everything has been top notch.
They are responsive and really help to solve problems. Back in March, we were looking to have plexiglass barriers installed at our store registers. We had no idea how to do it, but Humboldt Heights Remodeling came in, figured out a plan quickly and by the end of that day had them installed. They have been working great ever since.
I highly recommend their services for large projects and small. -

I would NOT recommend them unless you are ok with mediocre work, and don’t want things done correctly.
They might do well with smaller projects, but would not hire them again for a total remodel. We hired them to remodel a 1400 sq ft apartment and everything seemed to be done in a rush and the work was sloppy. The backsplash in the kitchen is not straight and spacers we’re not used between the mosaic sheets, leaving the grout lines uneven and wavy. When I asked them if they used spacers, they told me “no, you don’t use spacers for that”. Not sure if it was their first time working with glass tiles, but many of the pieces where not cut correctly, and left rough edges. Instead of using a different piece of tile, they used the broken one and kept going. I now have visible rough edges and breaks in my tile. Not sure if they thought I was naive, but I know you use spacers for all tile work, especially a backsplash to avoid tiles sliding down from gravity. The grout lines in my bathroom shower were not even either, but were at least better than the kitchen. We had them refinish the floors, which resulted in a strong odor for days that effected the other tenants, the finish was also uneven and splotchy. Not to mention they left gashes in my brand new cabinets while refinishing the floors, I then had to tell them multiple times that they needed to fix it. When painting, they must have used dirty rollers because there is pieces of dirt and debris stuck in the paint on the walls, and especially on a brand new door that came primered and smooth. They installed brand new ceilings, but someone there were rough spots and cracks - not sure how you get an uneven service or cracks in new drywall. The most frustrating part is that they no called, no showed on numerous occasions and/or they would come up with excuses when confronted, their favorite to use is that their car broke down - even though they had already told us they have multiple cars. They told us they would leave everything clean, they did not. We spent almost 10 hours just getting grout off the walls and floor where the tile was installed, and the floors and molding were filthy. Also, the molding was not installed correctly, seams didn’t line up, and instead of hiding the seam close to a not so visible corner, they put it right above a doorway.
When we asked them to fix their mistakes they told us “we were too picky” when all we were doing was asking them to do the job properly. It’s not like they were doing this for free; we paid them for their service, we except the job to be done correctly, not half way.
If they show you pictures, look closely at the work, everything looks great in pictures, but things are not always as they appear.
