    Upgrade electrical panels
    $0

Robert is the hardest worker I've ever seen! He was running around all day, working quickly to restore power to my mom's old 1940s home. He arrived to each appointment time super early, which really pleased my mother. The city electrical inspector verified that he did excellent work replacing her main & subpanels. Then when my 90 year old mother couldn't figure out how to turn on a breaker, Robert quickly came to her rescue and showed her how to fix the issue. He treated my mom with such kindness! I recommend Robert very highly.

Replace a panel and some cabling
    $2,250

We have used this company repeatedly over the years, but after yesterday's effort there isn't a chance in hell we'd go near Robert Glover again. His entire manner was rude, abrasive, and one of constantly complaining while replacing an old Federal Pacific board with an upgraded version. He had already been to our house twice in the previous week to look at the board, yet on the day moaned constantly about how much the previous electrician’s work was slowing up his schedule, that went on another tangent regarding the chest of drawers resting below that he claimed was getting in his way - if he’d said anything after the previous two visits I would have emptied it and moved it out of the way, but rather than accept responsibility for not saying anything chose to loudly complain when he realized it was impeding him and wanted to imply that we were at fault for our lack of prescience.

The entire performance was wearing thin by the end of the day, and as he shifted outside to follow up with some work replacing a cable to our AC’s condenser unit I had pretty much reached my limit of goodwill and patience with the performance. Unfortunately, that was just the prelude! He left soon after, yet within an hour we realized the AC wasn’t working at all and I called him up, hoping he could get back to take a look at whatever he’d missed. Would the word ‘testy’ seem appropriate regarding his response? He insisted he was tied up at the follow up job ‘we’ had held him up from, told me to check the breaker (which I already had) and finally and begrudgingly agreed to return at 8:00pm.

At 8:15 he called, asked if the unit had started running again, then, when I replied in the negative, went on a long and cranky rant about being too old and tired to go chasing after an old and defective breaker mounted to the outside wall that had likely melted - this from a man who had made no mention of it being inappropriate when we had employed him to replace everything outdated that needed replacing, including the Federal Pacific board. When he finally showed up at 8:30, I was waiting for him in the driveway. Clearly pissed, he stalked by me without a word, started working on the breaker, and when he couldn’t find anything wrong with it (so much for his earlier rant) went to work again on the AC condenser unit. He then turned to me and claimed that the AC was at fault via a defective contactor - this in a brand new AC that we only had installed a few weeks ago! So, by an extraordinary coincidence, a pristine contactor chose to go bad right at the time when he was working on the unit - what are the odds? I mentioned idly that I’d wondered, before he turned up, if he’d perhaps left a loose wire, something we all do at times - even the pros - and he bristled at the suggestion.

Rounding out the day, he decided to call me on his way home and mouth off at me about my questioning his credentials and trying to blame him. By that stage, after staying polite and patient all day, I finally had enough and bit back, saying, ‘excuse me, but all I’ve had all day is you complaining endlessly and blaming everyone else for your troubles!’ to which I also pointed out how much business we’ve given him and how many other friends and acquaintances we’ve directed him to. His response? He screamed ‘Don’t give me any more business!’ and hung up! Yep, real class.

The guy is also losing it in terms of always misplacing things while he’s working and leaving things behind after the job. I’ve literally seen him come round to replace a breaker that we needed, show it to me in the garage, then walk around five minutes later trying to find it, only to realize he’s walked all the way back out to his van for some tools and left it there. Any time spent with him while he’s working is to watch him constantly putting things down and then forgetting where he’s put them. And leaving things behind? He went to leave yesterday and came back within minutes because he’d left his cigarettes behind. When the AC wouldn’t work I found one of his testers lying on the ground by the condenser. Then this morning I discovered that he also left a screwdriver set and clipboard behind as well! When he came back this morning looking for it, we also saw an uglier side to him that really rounded out our experience with him, plain nasty and taunting and yelling down the neighborhood.

Employ this guy at your peril!

    Electrical for a new business
    $4,000

This contractor did not do the work properly the first time and made two appointments to come and correct the problem but didn’t show up for either appointment. When I called him on the phone he was rude and unapologetic. In the end , I hired another electrician to fix his slipshod work. Based on his attitude and professionalism, I would not recommend this person to anyone. Terrible experience
