So the buyer of my home has a home inspection done and some electrical issues came up in the garage. The buyer does her due diligence and has Hymer Electric come out and do an estimate to correct the issues. Well Hymer did exactly that and only that. A romex wire was surface mounted unprotected and home inspector called it out and said it needed to be in conduit. The wire is for a silly switch way out of reach that doesn't need to be there in the first place. A previous homeowner must have put it there to avoid nuisance tripping the motion light. Hymer should have notified customer that it would be better to remove switch or relocate/reroute it to where it should be. Simply placing it in conduit will create problems with finishing the garage with drywall should they ever choose too. I doubt Hymer mentioned this. Home inspector called out reverse polarity in all the receptacles. This can be fixed quick and easy by correcting the first receptacle in the series yet Hymer recommended replacing every entire outlet. Question my knowledge? I rewired my own home with permits to 2008 NEC. I welcome a response from Hymer Electric.
