Unprofessional to work with. Does not answer texts or phone calls. Sloppy work. Matt demanded money before completing the job of a retaining wall leaving a concrete film on my pavers, globs of concrete in garden area so I can't replant and the concrete retaining wall unfinished with paint. I paid Matt in good faith then he never returned to finish the job.
I am extremely dissatisfied with the professionalism of Matt the owner and feel this investment was a rip off plus very stressful.Response from Icon Concrete LLC June 16, 2020Jennifer, We are very sorry for the delay in the cleanup of your project. Be careful hiring this company! Dan Stewart (owner) of Lighthouse Construction Services LTD and partner Matt (owner) Icon Concrete LLC took our money and ran. They insisted on us giving them 50% of the down payment before signing any contracts. We agreed to give them 5% down payment of garage in good faith to start pulling permits and putting a down payment on lumber. NO permits or supplies got ordered at all. We thought that they were decent guys since they got referred by our architect.
Make sure that you look over there contract as we did not agree to there's because it was so one sided. In there contract it states if you come to a disagreement they can take your money and run. They try to get you on the backend with change orders. We decided to part ways and asked for our 5% back and they sent us an invoice for bidding on the contract for the amount on 6500.00. No company ever bids and charges to get the job. As I got 4 other bids by different companies. There was no agreement that got brought up that they would charge for bidding.
Looking over all the reviews on these two companies - I'm surprised that they are not in jail for taking people money. It's pretty sad that people do this. I will be filing with the courts. Bad business practices!
