Used bait and switch tactics to hide upcharges. I believe they knowingly violated FTC rules and the Truth in lending act, by not disclosing a finance upcharge of 11k.
The salesman was a salesman and used incorrect verbiage and faulty math to make a bad deal seem really good. Even for me, a math minor and Controller for a company, it was hard to tell the total price was not the good deal he made it sound when he was breaking down the numbers. That aside after I refused 3 rounds of their Installation Agreement invoices due to numbers not adding up. I spent several days with the sales rep and the finance department giving them the benefit of the doubt that I was either not understanding how they got their numbers or there was a simple math mistake. Finally, I got them to admit they upcharge for partnering with their lender by about 30%, basically the federal rebate amount, but do not disclose this upcharge and they hide it in the installation charge. They kept trying to write it off as the lender fee, but the lender did not have that fee on my paperwork, and Infinity did not disclose or show the fee on any of their paperwork. This is a violation of federal law, it is a scammer's tool to deceptively get money from people. Basically, they are trying to tell you, you are getting a good deal, but really you are paying just as much as you would without the federal incentives as they are using tactics to take those funds and hide the fact that they take them.
I have filed an FTC fraud report but wanted to share this here too.
