Along with never having an experience like you went through, this site says we have a remodel on Oahu (we don’t) and only one permit in the last 2 years. We built 4 brand new homes in 2022 and restored one of downtown Hilo’s old buildings. We only did one bathroom remodel for some of our close friends. I am truly sorry you had this experience w your contractor. Contracting is one of the toughest jobs out there. One mistake can cost you your company. Making payroll is tough. You need multiple jobs going at once to cover it. Because of that, It’s impossible to be at every job everyday. Some jobs need more attention. I don’t know any contractor who is always at the job. We are project managers, material runners, office managers, the number of hats we wear are too many to count. Build zoom, you guys should vet people leaving reviews. Specifically, ones as bad as this. Imagine this being the first thing you read about a company and it’s about someone else. Have the reviewer show proof of contract or pictures. In all our years in business, we’ve never had a customer named Karen nor do I ever ask to do anything off the books. Big island is a very small place. There should be a better system. Especially if you want Contractors to sign up w you. Just to leave this I had to fill out a bunch of information but to leave a review, I write and submit. Crazy.

I would not recommend this contractor. He is never on the job site, his workers have bare minimum experience and he has a horrible temper. He also made many attempts to get money from me “off the books”.
