Was hired to do the labor on a new bathroom renovation. The work was poorly done, they were not qualified for the work they said they were. I had to hire another person to fix the work they claimed to have done, and hire a plumber as they did not do the plumbing correctly, nor did they sub-contract someone who knew what they were doing.

The company claimed they were bathroom people and knew how to do showers and tubs. The bathroom rained in the downstairs, more water than you can believe. The ceiling needed to be taken down, and the whole thing redone. This was because they did not install the drain properly, and closed up the tub before really testing this. They were told by my father, they had another week to fix the ceiling and finish the bathroom as they were already not complete and over the time they said it would be complete. It was my only shower in the house. They either didn't show up some of that week or would come with an hour left in the work day, so they did not complete what should have and could have been fixed due to their error in the time they said, yet again. They were argumentative and unprofessional throughout the whole job. Lying about parts, losing parts that I paid for and so on. After a week and they clearly were not trying to finish on time, I told them I was hiring someone else to do the job after an argument between me and Joe after he lied to me again about parts and deadlines. After they left, the ceiling leaked again very badly. I called in a plumber to look at what was going on. It turns out these scam artists did not caulk the tub, the plumber was completely bewildered that people who claim to do bathrooms would not caulk a tub. A panel needed to be installed in and the wall torn down by the plumber to be able to diagnose and fix the issue, then the wall needed to be repaired, the ceiling again needed to be taken down and re-done, and more money spent. I spent over $4500 on the contractor and plumbing company I hired to fix the problems, and finish the job that Joe Paul started. The total amount I was supposed to pay Joe for the job was $4000, and I ended up paying over $500 more to finish the work and fix all the mistakes.

Here is a list of problems and mistakes this company made:
    a. Did not install the drain correctly and the entire ceiling needed to come down and replaced. Not only that but it was a popcorn ceiling, so the popcorn needed to be redone.
    b. Did not caulk the tub so the ceiling started leaking again after the initial leak, resulting in the ceiling coming down again, the wall and some tile in the bathroom needed to be ripped out and then repaired once the leak was fixed by a reputable plumber.
    c. The job was going on over a month and still not close to being fixed.
    d. The company was supposed to wait for the Granite company to come and left before the appointment so the granite needed to be rescheduled and resulted in taking even longer.
    e. They broke the faucet in the shower that made the plumber have to order a new one.
    f. The wall along the side of the toilet was bulging out and poorly done. The tile needed to come down, and the wall re-sheetrocked to be fixed, then more tile was needed to be purchased and the tile redone.
    g. The walls that were new were put up in such haste and the corners unprofessionally done, resulting in the new contractor to re-do and sand down to what it should have been, it was not taped and spackled.
    h. The paint was done poorly with many lint pieces and particles that are obvious in the paint, so the walls needed to be re-sanded and re-painted.
    i. My father is an electrician, and was doing the electrical system, they ran one wire and never competed the install if the piece (ceiling light and fan.)
    j. Nails came out on the other side into my room and needed to be fixed.
    k. They didn't check the water supply by the vanity, that was leaking and ruined another piece of the vanity.

A list if why I was angry:
    a. after being lied to numerous times about parts, deadlines and the poor work
    b. watching them not show up on days or show up with an hour left in the day
    c. missing appointments from people who they said they would wait for - the granite company was coming to measure and needed Joe there, he left his employee and the employee left an hour before the granite person showed up for the appointment, and the appointment needed to be rescheduled, resulting in even longer for this job
    d. my roommate pays me $750 a month for rent, and because she had nowhere to shower for over a month, I allowed her to only pay for half of that month resulting in more money lost and caused issues in the house.
    e. the poor work done
    f. the leaks due to incompetence
    g. the lack of remorse for the poor work and missed deadlines
    h. the company damaged a piece of the vanity which needed to be reordered from Home Depot and took another 3 weeks. Joe, however, lied about how long this would take and told me a week. I scheduled the granite to come after this was supposed to come in. I called Home Deport because I was starting to see that Joe was a liar, and they confirmed, he lied about when the cabinet was coming in. This enraged me as it was another lie and was delaying the bathroom again as I had to then wait for the piece of the vanity to come in before the granite could be installed. He showed no remorse and said he never said that. My roommate was with me both times.
    i. Kept no receipts for things purchased with my card at Home Depot, have no way of knowing if he used the materials for my place or someone else's.
