The final job was good, so was pleased with the work. However, what I was told by the business owner would take one day turned into a week. Part of the problem, which was no fault of hers, was the rainy weather was not cooperating a couple of days. But most of the delay was because she could not get any workers to help her, so she was on her own to handle installing approximately 11 planks of a siding job that went up about 10’ from the ground. Some days she did not bring or have the right tools for the job, or what she did bring didn’t work well (paint sprayer that she had to borrow was clogged, siding clamps that weren’t the right size to adequately hold the planks up). A couple of days she texted me after she was supposed to be at my house and said she “forgot” she had a doctor’s appointment so showed up hours late, or texted and said she was on her way and would be at my house “shortly,” but it would be an hour or two later. She told me she would need only a gallon of paint for the job (which I provided), but she ended up needing more. Once the job was complete, she wanted me to pay her by transferring money to her business bank account, but she provided the wrong name and account number, so I had to wait to transfer the money until the next day when I could call the bank during business hours to get it straightened out, and she accused me of withholding payment. I could deal with the frustration of the job taking longer than promised, but accusing me of trying to not pay her was unprofessional. So, all in all, she underestimated the job, overestimate getting help, and does not manage her time well. It’s too bad - I hired her because I really wanted to support a female-owned business.
