Insurance Recovery Corporation of America Construction

Specializing in Insurance Repair Construction.

Highly recommended by insurance adjusters and mitigation contractors

Hundreds of satisfied customers.

I came across these buildzoom negative responses and thought I should take control of this site to set the record straight.. I had prepared an explanation of why people might say these things, but with limited space here, none of these people have ever complained to a state reporting agency or filed a lawsuit because their claims are baseless and without merit.

I will try to find space on this site to provide more explanation later. One thing I've learned:

YOU CAN'T SATISFY GREED!!

No review has been verified or proven, but with the Buildzoom web site, you would think they had.

If you want to see unhappy customers, search for Buildzoom Reviews.

From BuildZoom: Insurance Recovery Corporation of America, 123 Delray, Delray Beach, FL holds a Residential Building (Rbc), Commercial Building (Cbc), Home Improvement (Hic), Highway / Heavy (H/H), Asbestos (Asb) license and 1 other license according to the Virginia license board.

Their BuildZoom score of 46 does not rank in the top 50% of Florida contractors.

Their license was verified as active when we last checked. If you are thinking of hiring Insurance Recovery Corporation of America, we recommend double-checking their license status with the license board and using our bidding system to get competitive quotes.

I’m not a fan of reviews. That is because I own a mechanic shop and it’s not just kids who bully. People who are greedy or dishonest use reviews to say things they would never say face to face.

But I had to leave one here because I hired Ron and he was knowledgeable and honest. His is a difficult profession, a lot more than fixing up someone’s old clunker at a reasonable cost! But he does it well and I highly recommend him.

Restore upstairs bedroom, bathroom, and closet. Restore finished basement after water damage.
    $19,000

I had a pipe burst in my upstairs bathroom which flooded my bathroom and some of my attached bathroom and closet. Because my finished basement was directly underneath it also sustained water damage.
My insurance company, State Farm, gave me Ron Ferrin’s phone number to call for a contractor. I didn’t believe I needed a contractor for the job, just some qualified subs. But, after calling about a dozen people I was told they were all too busy to get the job done anytime soon. So, I went ahead and hired Ron Ferrin.
When I first met with him he seemed okay. He said he had a full crew and seemed competent enough.
I gave him a draw out of pocket so he would start work. I told him I would order all the flooring, vanities, drop ceiling, etc. and have it delivered to my house, which I did. The materials were here long before they were installed.
Ron Ferrin has no “crew”. He has his son-in-law doing everything and while working on several other insurance claims along with my job. Needless to say, my job went excruciatingly slow. His son-in-law (who was a great guy) would get to my home around 10:30 am and usually stay sometimes till around 2:00 pm. He would usually come twice a week. The job was taking forever.
Ron asked for another draw a month later, which I paid. By the time he started on the basement Ron wanted a third draw. I said no way until you finish.
I asked Ron for an accounting at some point to justify what I had paid him and then things started going down hill . After I gave him the second draw no one showed up for two weeks, with no explanation or contact. Only one guy can only do so much when he just works for a few hours a couple times a week.
I understandably questioned Ron about how long it was taking so his son-in-law worked a little more when he wasn’t called away by Ron to go somewhere else.
Ron does not like to be questioned. I would ask him direct questions about the budget for the things I was buying and never got any kind of answer. He would start fumbling with his phone and then change the subject.
When Ron is asked about something directly he has a fit like a little child and changes everything around to make it sound like it was YOU that is the problem. He will take NO responsibility for anything. He couldn’t even provide an accounting of the work he had done or his expenses. He copied and pasted parts of the insurance company’s estimate which made no sense at all.
I have paid Ron $10,980.14 on an $18,872.00 job. He still wants another $3,558.96 which would be a total of $14,539.10. And he can’t justify that!
Now he is trying to bully me with threatening to put a lien on my house for the $3,558 which he can’t even justify.
He may get on here and absolutely lie like he did on the other reviews and turn everything around on me. He has been the worst experience of my life and I would NEVER recommend him to anyone.

Lynn Hudson, I don't have time to reply line by line except that, wow, you have an imagination. Your adjuster told you that she has NO complaints about us. That is why she referred us. Your issue was not with our work but that you could not make money on this claim. I don't need to provide an accounting of how much money I made. You still owe $3,500, which is more than fair,, which is why I"m filing a lien.

When I had a fire in my home, my adjuster recommended Insurance Recovery. He said he had worked with them before and I later found out that my adjuster had used Ron on his own home a couple years ago.

They worked with my adjuster to reach a fair settlement and Ron did what he said he would do. I have realistic expectations and I know what can and can't be done. I just relied on him. It was done and looks fine.

I'm only giving a four star rating cause no one ever deserves five.

I was referred to Mr Ferrin by a friend who had a low ball estimate from their adjuster that was corrected by Mr. Ferrin, his public adjuster.

After my kitchen and bath flooded, my adjuster offered me less than $8,000. After I hired Fair And Accurate, they settled for just under $40,000.

Obviously I am happy with the results.. I highly recommend Mr. Ferrin.

    Public Adjuster

Hired him a public adjuster and he completely screwed up the entire project he was ok and professional when I met him. He took charge of the task and thought he would follow through, but after weeks of trying to chase him down for updates, he would do a shake and bake answer response. He eventually quit the job, leaving me in the bag and having to find an attorney to help with the case, since Ron failed to do his job. He needs to lose his license and he is a scam artist.

Never would I recommend Ron Ferrin or his company to do any work! After water damage to my kitchen and dinning area, Service Masters cleaned up the water damage area and recommended Ron Ferrin to replace my cabinets and floor. My upper cabinets are falling off the walls and the counter tops are amess. He is a con artist to get all the money out of you that he can. Do not ever allow him into your home to do any work at all. You will not be satisfied with nothing he does! workers show up at 11:00 and by 3:00 they are gone. You may not see them again for a couple of weeks. Believe me, you will fire them like I did after seeing there work!

Response from Insurance Recovery Corporation of America April 7, 2021
Kenny, I can’t believe the liberties you are taking with the truth. We had to walk off the job because of the way you harassed my employees. You tried to blame our company for your preexisting sewer condition, The cabinets were straight, it was just the walls that are not, You are left with $2,000 that you never paid us, You know, you told my employees you were a preacher and after you treated them and lied to them, you made mentoring them that much harder. It’s a good thing your insurance company agreed with us.

    $11,000

Ron Ferrin came to us on advice of Service Master. We had a ice maker break and flood part of our house. He has started on 3 rooms at one time and finished none of them. He says they will come and then do not show up. He keeps wanting money and we refuse to pay any more until we can see some progress with what he has torn up to begin with. Do I recommend his? Noooooooooooo way.

Response from Insurance Recovery Corporation of America August 14, 2023
Donna White, A little correct context. First, we only received one draw. You make it sound like I got several. The insurance company approved sanding and refinishing your hard wood floors. We wrote a proposal to completely replace your floors, which they approved. According to a Facebook post someone showed me, when you received the money for replacement, you repaired the floors and kept the difference. It appears that firing me was your way of covering it up!

Use this contractor at your own risk. A con artist is a good description for him. Installed our roof incorrectly. Installed a skylight, which in turn leaked and he refuses to pay for his companies poor quality work.

Response from Insurance Recovery Corporation of America August 14, 2023
Here is the truth: When no other contractor would install anything but black three tab shingles, we installed a high end architectural shingle that looked like a wood shake roof. When the insurance company only paid to replace the siding on the front and one side, we wrapped the rest at OUR COST.
The seal on your sky light lasted for it’s warranty. When it began leaking, we fixed the leak for free but you wanted a new sky light and a whole new roof. We said no and you then called me a scam artist! I hope YOUR customers at C.O.B.R.A. Self Defense are more truthful with you.

    Home Restoration after pipe burst
    $12,000

DO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR, they destroyed my home. I had a pipe burst and State Farm Insurance Company recommended them. I had to move out of my home because of the damage from the flood. Ron Ferrin is NOT a Con-tractor he's a CON-ARTIST. He and his daughter both knew I was going through treatment for Breast Cancer and could not be constantly checking their work. They took the money and then went back to State Farm for more and left the house in worse condition than after the pipe burst!!! They never completed the work as stated in the contract and the little work they did do was of such poor quality, I'm having to hire another contractor to fix their mess!! I will see them again in court for breach of contract!!!!

Response from Insurance Recovery Corporation of America August 15, 2023
Maggie, I don't know what to say, except this is 100% false. A complete lie. I know you didn't want to pay us our final draw and you feel this was the best way to get out of it, but the job was beautiful when we finished. We never asked for, nor received, a supplement from State Farm. They would only have approved it if we validated one and it would have been sent directly to you. We were very patient because we knew you were having a severe medical condition and I wish you would take this post down because it was all a lie. If it were true, why didn't we hear from you in court?!

    Rebuild home
    $315,000

The contract for house burnt was $315,000 which includes debris removal. They received $40,000 5/25/17 from the mortgage company. After 5 weeks 6/31/17 Ron Ferrin demanded $8,000 more money and had not finished removing the debris and would not work until he received the extra money. I refused to give him more so he took his equipment. Since then he has told me he is working on accounting but he has not shown any receipts nor itemized invoice. He stated that he had not spent the $40,000. 8/18 I received a letter from county waste management threatening lien for over $8,000 that he has not paid. I consider this fraud.

Response from Insurance Recovery Corporation of America December 7, 2023
Elaine Fitzpatrick, a little background. I was referred by your insurance company because of the years that their customers have been happy with our work. When the claims manager called me, he warned me that they were unable to find any contractor within 30 miles who didn’t know about your reputation, from when you had your house built. I said I would take it and saw troubles on day 1. First, you hit policy limits of $250,000 with a rebuild price of $315,000. That did not allow enough money for demolition because we were removing all the debris from a house that was two stories plus basement. The plan was to use some of the profitable parts of the rebuild to pay for the demo that was not covered by the policy. But when the time came to transfer money from the rebuild to the demo, you just up and fired my company. Second, when you gave me a cashiers check for the second draw, you asked for half of it back. You said you would keep track of it but I’ve never had anyone ask that before or since. Then you asked me to buy material to repair the rental that the insurance company was paying for then cancelled it when the material was delivered, saying the house didn’t need it. I asked a lady from my company to act as contact person on this job. Her only duties was to meet with you every day or two to answer questions and relay any concerns. She was my secret weapon to keep you happy, something that the insurance company said we couldn’t do! After dealing with you for just two weeks she refused meet with you again! Finally, the bill from the trash company was for your work and I did provide you with an accounting that explained everything.
