If anyone reads this, stay away from this contractor. If i could give negative stars, that would be a suitable rating. Brad shane will appear to be very professional when you meet him, however it will quickly fall apart. There will be delays and excuses. He will request additional deposits for materials (which he shouldn't need). He will not return your phone call, and will disappear. If you do see or hear from him again, the excuses contradict themselves. Someone recommended that i look him up on courtconnect delaware (it was already too late)... Zero integrity. If for some reason you do hire brad shane/ island designs llc, keep an eye on his workers as they do not know what a level is, or how to properly make even/smooth cuts. I later learned that others have experienced the same exact issues. I also learned that taking him to court is useless... I wish i'd been aware of courtconnect delaware prior to hiring brad. If anyone google searches that site, type his name or business name in the website's search tab...You'll see the number of times he's been sued...

Zero integrity.

We have a farm that is very windy and cold in the winter. We have approximately 30 feral cats. I called Brad to see about getting the building porch enclosed with heavy plastic for the winter, and he came out that same morning, gave me an estimate, and came back with his crew and did it right away. He also built a large wall-sized wooden cat shelter for me with a hinged top and Tom & Jerry entrances on each end so the cats can escape the wind and cold. He also installed insulation on the third-floor attic of the farmhouse and did a fantastic job. It made the house so much warmer immediately. Then I had a leaking window, and Brad figured out it was because of the roof being rotted. He replaced the roof and repaired the walls in the bathroom and fixed the window. Everything he has done has been an awesome job and fast and reasonably priced. I'll be calling Brad for all my construction needs.

I hired Island Design & Builders to replace the portion of my roof that's above my front door after seeing their sign in a neighbor's yard. Brad and his crew were able to finish the job within 3 days of starting, and I was very pleased with the finished product. I've recommended Brad to my friends who live in the Clayton area, and would recommend them to anyone that's looking to start a home renovation project.

Read reviews posted by others. I confirm everything they said. To boot, I have pictures of his worker stealing from us. Trying our locked garage door, and when I confronted Brad, he said he has known the guy since they were little kids and he wouldn't do something like that. Lies. Job is not completely done, missed areas of repair and is making excuses why he can't come and fix the problem. Meanwhile, I have mold growing in my bathroom closet (I told him the issue back in March which he said he would come out asap, lie). His workers were smoking pot under my house while working, I had to constantly keep an eye on them from wandering around the property, left empty drink cans under our home, and never showed up on time or answered the phone. Stay away. I don't have the time to waste on small claims court. Hoping I can help someone else from making a mistake.
