DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE ISLAND DREAM HOMES OR CONTRACT BRET JONES OR MICKI - EVER. Go check out the reviews on Google for them. Those are the real ones. Anyone here who said that they received good service had to have left a review before these guys finished the job... because they rarely finish. Instead they lie, sign a contract with you they have no intention of honoring, they will more than likely ask you for all your money before 50% of the job is done and then ask for more or cant finish. We contracted them thru Home Advisor back in 2019 and by 2020 we ended up in the hole and having the finish the job ourselves. They ate up all of our contract money for Fridays pay to the crew and then went on vacation with the rest. These guys are low life scam artists or grifters, is more like it. They prey on customers but the end result is always the same. I cant believe 4 years later they are still able to get away with it. Do not hire these guys. Trust me.

Review Island Dream Homes (Bret Jones and Micki Mansfield)

We hired Bret Jones of Island Dream Homes for a garage addition project that was estimated to take 2-3 months on May 9th, 2023. We are now on day 442 with no end in sight. The project was supposed to include a Haas 360 Garage Door and a Nova 90 Entry door, both of which have not been paid for or installed despite us paying over 90% of the contracted amount. They want us to pay for these doors, though they are written into the contract. We also were asked to pay the flooring subcontractor, though “polished concrete floors” are also written into the contract, and signed by Bret Jones.
As of today, besides it being a shell with no doors, we also do not have basic amenities such as AC, power, a toilet, a sink, lights, fans, or finished interior or exterior paint. It has been two weeks since we last saw any workers on site. Bret Jones refuses to come to the house to discuss the project and has resorted to hanging up on us during our last phone call.
Will Bret Jones be a “man of his word” and honor the contract, or will Island Dream Homes continue to breach their obligations? Only time will tell. We will update this review to reflect whether they ultimately fulfill their promises or not.

Hiring Island Dream Homes to renovate our condo was the worst decision we have ever made. A true nightmare. Believe the reviews that cite unprofessional conduct, poor quality workmanship, project delays, threats to walk off the job, demands for unjustified money, not paying subcontractors, threats of liens being placed on properties, not using licensed subcontractors,significant issues with project management and having to have others to come in to clean up their mess. These are actual complaints that parallel our experience! We seriously question the integrity of this company!
