    Considered for Bathroom Remodel

    in comparing all of the 3 bids we got, have decided against Hammer LLC as it is higher than fits our budget. He was friendly, professional, explained things very well. Thanks to Jim for taking the time to stop. I also called Jim personally to let him know.

    Log Home Window & Door repairs

    As with every good contractor, Island Hammer is busy and well worth the wait!

    We have a new log home, and after log settling the windows and doors needed to be adjusted and re-trimmed. Two doors had to be completely reinstalled because our home builder installed them poorly. As typical for a log home, nothing is square, plumb, level, or flush ?.

    Jim Callahan, Island Hammer owner, was on-site several times to assess the project and determine the best course of action. His skilled carpenters worked to do the job right. So many times I’d say something like “that looks great” and the reply would be “it isn’t quite right tho” or “I’m not happy with it”.

    In short, their craftsmanship is absolutely top notch!

    They were also very respectful of our home and our space. They cleaned up daily! We offered space in our home & garage for their equipment & supplies, otherwise they would have packed that up daily as well.

    We had 6 doors adjusted, and 12 window/doors re-trimmed. Due to employee illnesses and Holidays our project was spread over 4 weeks. Jim Callahan was gracious enough to allow me to text him, so we could get daily updates on work continuation. It took a little bit to get that communication line established, and once it was we felt much more “in control” of our days - knowing whether or not people would be arriving to work. I’m sure that’s something Jim does reluctantly, and we made sure to only use that as a status check mechanism. He has several crews at several projects at once, and we wanted to be respectful of him time.

    Our job was completed yesterday. Our doors & windows are tight and trimmed beautifully! We mentioned several times that we wished Island Hammer had done the finish carpentry on our home in the first place. No doubt our whole home would be better for it!!

    In short, Island Hammer is A++ and we’ll be hiring them again!!
