My backyard was uneven, not slanting away from the house and was invaded by bentgrass. To solve these problems I hired this contractor to perform grading work.
and re-seeding. I already had about 5 yards of topsoil in my property which he was to use. Just after he started I had to go to the foodstore. When I came back after less than one hour he was gone. No grading had been done, the bentgrass was still there and the seeding had not been covered by soil or peat moss. In my mailbox was a bill for $ 375.00.
When confronted for an explanation he answer was:"you do not understand, this is what we do". I suggested to go to arbitration, to which he replied "I'll see you in court, you son of a XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX". He followed with dayly phone messages demanding payment.
Five days later he trespassed into my property and refused to leave (Police report # 12-615688). For his 45 minutes of work I sent him a check for $ 70.00.
He called my lawyer threatening to put a lien on my property.
