    Siding

Keith Ludwick, with Isotherm Exteriors LLC came into my home to give an estimate for siding, at that time he was representing Castle Windows Castle Windows declined the job because Mr. Ludwick told a representative at Castle Windows the job was too small; Mr. Ludwick then offered to complete the job through his company, Isotherm Exteriors. He charged me $5750 for the total job, at this time he said I had to pay 50% of this amount. He subsequently lost my check at a produce company in New Jersey. I don’t understand why Mr. Ludwick was still carrying my check around after he had cashed it months earlier. When I brought this to his attention he allowed me to take $800 off the total cost.
After 5 months and my repeated communications asking when the job would be completed, he finally started the job. He sent one man (the first guy) to my home and he started to remove the old siding which is on the second floor. He had to remove the siding on a 45 degree slope of the roof. Each corner of the building has a 45 degree slope. Instead of using a ladder on the 45 degree slope he climbed on the 45 degree-roof-slope creating severe wear and tear on my roof-shingles. The other workers used a ladder on the 45 degree slope of the other three corners of the building. After the siding was installed the first guy was left to complete the job, including the caulking and capping the windows. He told me the job was complete, so I inspected the work. I took pictures of numerous instances of incomplete work, including lack of caulking. He returned to address my complaints. He had done did sloppy work and incomplete work, which I wanted corrected. I had not paid the remainder due on the job yet, and at that time that it seemed to be the only incentive he had to do the job correctly. After the job was done I paid the balance of $2075 in cash. I assumed all was well. The next day I went up to the roof to inspect the job and found the wear and tear on the roofing shingles and remembered at that time watching him without a ladder on the 45 degree slope. I remembered because I was in fear of his safety. Then I noticed drops of caulking all over the roof where he had been working to complete the job. This guy did sloppy work and a lot of the caulking needs to be redone. Also, the drops of caulking all over the roof cannot be removed without damage to the roofing.
I called Keith Ludwick over over 1 month ago and he said he would send someone out to address the issues; wear and tear of the roofing-shingles where there was no use of a ladder and sloppy caulking.
I told him that I had enough shingles to repair the damage caused by his worker who did not use a ladder to remove the siding, so he would not have to purchase any. These were left over shingles from the roofing job I completed earlier on a separate structure.
He has not sent anyone to address my concerns. I feel since I already paid the balance he has no incentive to take care of my concerns. He has not called me.
I do have windows in my home that need to be replaced, nine upstairs and 6 down stairs and three in the basement. Castle Windows did replace several about one year ago. However, I will not consider Castle Windows for any more work at my home. I have lost confidence in the company since they employ people with such poor business practices. I feel frustrated and angry in the lack on Mr. Ludwick’s response to my concerns.
