  Absolutely NO stars are deserved, but it was too bad that I had to pick one. I agree 100% with the negative ratings. J&A have deficient & untrustworthy service, belligerent technicians who are too lazy to solve the problem, or even pull the Furnace or AC apart to look into it...and then there's the technician, Rob, who doesn't even open his tool bag and leaves shortly after arriving way later than the promised arrival time. Management and technician staff are all unresponsive to promised follow-ups on next steps or complaints/issues......or even complying with their promised and advertised on-call service during off hours. They completely disregarded American Home Shield Warranty's request for expedited service for medical reasons, due to my son's severe asthmatic flare-ups in extreme hot and cold temps, to our home for a major AC/Furnace issue. They've come to our home at least 6 times without ever fully fixing a problem (always half attempted work) or even understanding the root cause in the first place. No call backs from Scott, the manager, unless we kept calling. He was supposed to come to our house to check out our furnace problem that his techs could not figure out, but he never showed. J&A told us to simply wait for our furnace to fail and then they would just have American Home Shield Warranty replace it with a new one...even though the furnace continued to fail and couldn't heat our home (it was indeed failing!). Tonight, our home is very hot. My husband saw that the AC and piping into condenser unit above furnace was frozen solid and the duct work around the A-coil was bulging and splitting the seams. Since there is a high potential for the ice to melt and leak down into the electrical components in the furnace, we were trying to be proactive on two accounts; 1) my son's health - most important of all, and 2) prevent out furnace from shorting out which would require a furnace replacement. American Home Shield Warranty expedited the call to J&A, and a very rude technician, Chuck, called back to read me the riot act about how it was midnight and he wasn't going to drive all the way over to our area tonight, even though the expedited calls were for medical reasons. That was the very first thing he said to me on the phone without first listening to the big problem...he was just mean and full of attitude from the start. My husband then got on the phone with him to try and explain the problem and expressed how much we needed someone onsite tonight. Chuck said he wasn't coming because he couldn't do anything about it until Monday. I guess we were disturbing his weekend plans. He was belligerent and combative on the phone from the start and did not care about my son's reaction to extreme cold/hot temps, spiking his asthma. Instead, he had the nerve to call us belligerent, with his erratic speech, and told us to call American Home Shield Warranty back to get a different vendor to help us because he wasn't coming. Oh, and he also told us that he was going to tell on us. Wow.....now that's great service for you from an unintelligible man, at best. He then hung up on us. We asked J&A answering service to escalate to Scott, the manager, who has been unresponsive in the past...and once again tonight. DO NOT USE J&A. They are incompetent, and I will not even renew my contract with American Home Shield Warranty when it expires in May of this year because of their contract with a poorly chosen company in the Pittsburgh region and outlying suburbs...I have repeatedly told American Home Shield Warranty of J&A's bad service and horrible reputation. And here is a very interesting discovery by more than one of us reviewers; a couple of months ago, J&A had a significant number of bad reviews littering the internet when searched on, but somehow a huge chunk of those bad reviews are now missing. They must know how bad they are and scour the internet for bad reviews to pull down so no one knows about it until they put in a service call to them and have to find out first hand for themselves. Shame on J&A for their inability to run a reputable and honest business and treat customers well, and shame on American Home Shield Warranty for doing nothing about the negative feedback received about J&A and continuing to contract with them. You are better off staying away from both!
