    Replace HVAC unit

Customer BEWARE! Allan seems to be a nice person. Unfortunately, my experience with his work has been a nightmare. My house was 15 years old when I bought it and it was time to replace the HVAC system

The first year I had my HVAC system, the drain pan overflowed and ruined part of the ceiling in my laundry room. Allan patched is up the best he could - however the ceiling texture obviously does not match.

The second year, the unit stopped cooling, and Allan confirmed that the compressor had failed. While the part was covered under warranty, the labor Allan charged to replace the compressor was $750.00.

During this time, my next door neighbor expressed concerns that they noticed there was condensate coming from the emergency overflow pipe higher up on the house and nothing coming out of the normal condensate pipe near the outdoor unit.

This time I called a different service company, and they were finally able to determine that the overflow knockout only had a screwdriver size hole in it and that the knockout had not been properly removed. Finally the condensate began flowing out of the correct pipe.

Allan had mentioned that there needed to be some duct work taken care of, but was travelling and unable to address the issue. In addition, it was hot, my air handler is in the attic, so it would be okay and I should contact him in November.

After the condensate problem was corrected, the unit stopped cooling again. When I called the repairman back, he found that the duct work into the system had been duct taped and supported with hanging straps - but had come apart so that the cool air was simply filling the attic. He patched it up again.

There's more, but i think you get the picture.
