  Install appropriate new sump pump

  J & M Plumbing failed to install an appropriate sump pump in my home. They came out twice, through American Home Shield. It required another plumber to install a correct one and ServiceMasters to remove all the water, the ruined carpeting, wood flooring and baseboards. The J & M Plumbing technician that performed the work was not a licensed plumber, but working under Jeff Paulsen's license.

  (6/14/22)I was assigned this company through my home warranty. I had major stoppage in my kitchen sink. They called almost immediately to set up the appointment, and the technician arrived in the time frame I was told. That is as good as it got, and was downhill from there. Travis came in and started snaking my drain, letting me know that the stoppage was further than the 75 feet of his equipment, and he would not be able to complete the job because more snake was needed. He said He also thought I needed a scope/camera done because of how backed up it was. He dumped the disgusting, back up water in my toilet, and apparently neglected to flush. My entire toilet was soiled, including my sink and counter, with a greasy film all over the rim and inside the toilet bowl. He also neglected to tell me he had a stoppage water party in my bathroom, so I got to walk into that far after he left. He told me he needed to replace a pipe or something under my sink because the other was corroded. Ok, no problem. Fast forward to when he was leaving, he said he would need to call this all in for it to be expedited and for someone else to come out with a longer snake to get to the problem. I asked him numerous times, am I able to wash these dishes that I have. He said yes every time I asked, and just told me not to run it a hundred times. Easy enough, it was 1 load. I begin to rinse some of my dishes, and my sink immediately backs up and I’ve got a pool underneath in my cabinet. I spend over an hour pulling everything out and wiping everything, cleaning up the water that is now pooled in the cupboard, and set a 5 gallon bucket underneath. I continue to run my dishwasher, being sure to watch it so it wouldn’t leak or overflow. Woooowwww, big mistake. I had water shooting everywhere, and a flooded kitchen floor. Once again, I spend over an hour cleaning all that up and decide I would leave it all for the next day. I call first thing in the morning to check on the status of the service, and am told that they would check on that and get back to me. That was at 8:15am (6/15/22). After not hearing anything for over 3 hours, I decided to call back. I had standing water in my sinks that smelled just as bad as it looked, and found that the carpet in my basement was SOAKED. I was livid. I called over, and over, and over and over, and not once did the phone get answered. I sent a message through Facebook messenger, and still today (6/16/22 11:00am) has not been read. I finally called my home warranty company, and they tried to get in contact with them, but no luck for them either. Apparently, someone finally contacted the home warranty company, because they could finally release the job and expedite it to emergency and let a REAL company come out to fix all of their mistakes. The company that was sent out this morning (6/16/22) was fabulous. They fixed my problem in less than 10 minutes, as well as tightened all of the pipes that the previous guy left loose. I have now filed 3 complaints with my home warranty company about this business, and cannot believe they are a trusted contract. Across the board, everywhere I have checked, this is a 1 Star business, and many other people are or have experienced the same level of service that I have. It is my opinion that the BEST business these people be in is OUT OF BUSINESS. If your home warranty company assigns J&M for your service, call them immediately and demand a different company be sent out. I know 10 year olds that are more reliable than this company and could do a better job!

  Jared arrived on time, and in a highly-professional manner took care of the clog in our disposal, completed additional service on the sink water flow, and cleaned up. He was pleasant, and skilled! We highly recommend this service company!

  Replace sump pump

  Came out three hours after initial call and took care of problem in 20 minutes! Great job and friendly tech!!!

  Fix my bathroom sink

  I had an appointment set up for them to come and fix my bathroom sink and they did not call or text me to tell me that they would not be able to come. If I could give them a 0 rating I would. This is unacceptable. They are contracted through my home warranty and so I called them and could not get a hold of J &M so I called my warranty company and they could not get anyone to answer the phone either. This is not a way the business should be handled.

  The warranty company for my home (HSA) referred this company to me to have a toilet fixed. J&M installed a broken toilet and then blamed my husband and I on "abusing" the toilet. This was 100% not the case. J&M refused to return calls or an email and told HSA that we would need to pay $300 to have them replace the toilet, after we already paid the $75 warranty deductible. Worst company I have ever had to deal with.
