We got 3 bids and they were the most competitive
    $850,000

    JJ Landerman
Our 7600 sq. foot church flat roofs in Hartford were stripped of 2 layers of old roofing and replaced with a new roof by JJ Landerman. The service we received from Jennifer at JJ Landerman, from the first phone call until the roof was complete was outstanding. I could not recommend JJ Landrmnan enough. The attention to detail and keeping the customer's interest first were excellent. They cleaned up the site perfectly, and when there was a slight delay, I was informed and keep apprised when the job would be finished. We received three bids, and they were very competitive in their bid.
When I was talking to one of the crewmembers on a sweltering day, I was thanking him for his work. He turned to me and said “Thank You” for giving us this work”. That is the feeling that I have gotten from this entire company. They are very appreciative of the work given to them. There is a very good reason that they have over 80 - 5 star Google reviews, they really do care about the quality of their work.

We hired them to do our roof, rip and tear job. I was cleaning out nails and roofing materials from our garden for months, they left such a mess. Some years later, when we had another contractor put a skylight in, he informed us that Landerman had not put the roofing paper under the shingles where he had to remove them for the skylight. This company is dangerously bad.

Lazy, stupid, dishonest or rude? You decide.

A group of six home owners got together and and sent out a formal request for proposal. The homes had square footage of 3000 to 4000 square feet and are valued between $400K to $600K. I talked with the owner's foreman for about 30 minutes and on a separate occasion, the owner for about an hour. In his bid, the Landerman agreed to perform the work to a written specification. JJ Landerman was selected the winner of the contract award based on the size of company (large) and having a low price.

Then, when he I asked for a written contract, I received a contract that was completely different from the written request for proposal. So I talked with the secretary and she told me it was all a mistake. I sent the contract to her with all my comments and she said she would discuss with the owner. I heard nothing and called the secretary again. She said the owner was at a trade show and would get to it next week. She then indicated that the JJ Landerman was eager to do the work and emphatically stated that they were an honest contractor. Over the course of six weeks, the same process repeated itself three more times.

As a result, we hired the runner-up in the bid pool and were very satisfied. The cost of delaying my house's roofing project cost me $600 due to added insurance costs. Whatever Landerman's motives, DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY!!!
